Through funding of a study by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, it was determined that women lead through eight distinct principles which became the foundation for the ATHENA Leadership Model. Since its founding, ATHENA has honored more than 7,000 exemplary women leaders worldwide based on their exemplification of these principles. ATHENA Valley of the Sun (AVOS) was launched in 2015 by Dr. Kristine Quade to create new awareness for the guiding ATHENA Leadership principles and to give women of all generations in Arizona an authentic platform to explore and enhance their leadership potential through its mission to Leave No Woman Leader Behind. As an official affiliate to ATHENA International, AVOS is dedicated to helping ignite change in our community by honoring and supporting diverse local women through the annual ATHENA HAIL Awards and through innovative programs and events in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona. Our initiatives include The Annual ATHENA HAIL Awards to honor women from all generations. Becoming ATHENA - Emerging Leaders Program based on ATHENA Principles. Executive Leadership Certificate Program for economically disadvantaged women Monthly Leadership Development Luncheons on trending topics and education. Elevating My Voice Program - Leadership development for young women in East Valley High Schools.

3 2 Announcing the 3 rd Annual ATHENA HAIL Awards & Global Leadership Award - February 28, 2019! ATHENA Valley of the Sun has been selected from international chapters to present the Global Leadership Award at the ATHENA HAIL Awards on February 28 in Scottsdale! We are honored to have been chosen to present this prestigious award for the first time in Arizona with ATHENA National Board members in attendance. Announcing the 2019 ATHENA Global Leadership recipient: Melani Walton of the Walton Foundation! Since 2017, AVOS has celebrated extraordinary women leaders including two ATHENA Leadership honorees, Ambassador Barbara Barrett and Dr. Eileen Borris, and 12 women with the Honoring ATHENA Inspired Leaders (HAIL) Award to recognize their exemplification of one of the ATHENA Leadership Principles. The ATHENA HAIL awards has also recognized 16 emerging young women leaders from East Valley high schools. In 2018, our ATHENA HAIL awards event was attended by over 200 local business leaders and others applauding the contributions of women in our community. Sponsors included ShePower China, Kolbe Corporation, Fry s Food Stores, Freeport-McMoRan, Global Chamber of Commerce among other notable area organizations. 4 ATHENA HAIL Awards February 28, :30 1 Pm Clayton House in Scottsdale ATHENA Valley of the Sun is hosting the 3 rd Annual ATHENA HAIL (Honoring ATHENA Inspired Leaders) Awards to recognize a Global Leadership recipient and six outstanding local women leaders and young women in Arizona. Anticipated attendance is 350. Sponsor Levels 2019 Global Leadership Recipient - Melani Walton ATHENA Global Leadership Award For the first time in Arizona, the Global Leadership award will be presented by the ATHENA International Board of Directors. The 2019 recipient for this prestigious award is Melani Walton, CEO of the Rob & Melani Walton Foundation, for her professional excellence and contributions to women s leadership on an international basis. Sponsorship includes one table for 8 representatives from your organization, prominent mention on all event collateral, photo/video opportunity and private meeting with the Global honoree, and the below mentioned acknowledgements. 5 HAIL and Elevating My Voice Honorees New for 2019! Elevating My Voice Awards Honoring outstanding young women in East Valley high Schools! The Elevate My Voice Award will be presented to six young women from the East Valley in recognition of their exceptional leadership in their high schools. Sponsorship includes tickets for four representatives of your organization to attend the event and the pre-event reception with the Global Recipient, mention in newsletters and all social media platforms as well as mention at the event and in the official program. Six Sponsorships Available: $5,000 ATHENA Valley of the Sun Programming Executive Leadership Certificate Program You can ensure that a woman leader can participate in the ATHENA Executive Leadership cohort for one year and attend all monthly meetings. Sponsorship includes recognition at the event and in the official program, on the AVOS website, Social Media and in one press release preceding the event. Includes two tickets to attend the Maraion Douglas Executive Certificate Recipient 2019 Awards event and pre-event reception with the Global Award Recipient. $2,500 Becoming ATHENA: Champions for Change Your donation to the ATHENA Foundation will provide one woman the opportunity to participate in monthly leadership forums and access to mentors and national and local program content for one full year. The candidate for this sponsorship is a college student, young professional, valued employee or an economically disadvantaged woman. Sponsorship includes tickets for two representatives of your organization to attend the 2019 ATHENA HAIL Awards and pre-event reception with the Global recipient, mention in the official event program and on the AVOS website. $7,500

6 5 Elevating My Voice Leadership School Partner Sponsor a Young ATHENA program at an East Valley high school to provide leadership training to young women! One student leader at each campus will be responsible for ensuring the development and mentorship of at least 10 other junior or senior young women at her school. Sponsorship will provide materials and other program related expenses. Sponsors will be prominently featured on the AVOS website, in newsletters and on social media for a one year period and at the 2019 ATHENA HAIL Awards. $2,500 Becoming an ATHENA: Emerging Leaders Partner Sponsor an individual Young ATHENA who is a junior or senior from an East Valley high school as she explores the ATHENA leadership principles through workshops, mentors and community service. Sponsors will be featured on the AVOS website at for one year and on social media platforms.
