Hopefully the warm sun of Phoenix, coupled with the best educational experience in the infusion field, will energize your mind! We ve put together this quick cheat sheet to help you prepare for everything INS Firsttime attendees are especially urged to familiarize themselves with this information. The INS Registration Desk: Your Home Base for INS 2014 The INS registration desk is where you get started. Pick up your registration bag, get your badge, visit the INS Bookstore nearby, and chat with INS staff. If you re looking to avoid the morning rush, come on by Friday night and get a jump on things there s a lot for you to sift through! Registration Location: West Ballroom 301 Foyer Registration Hours: Friday, May 2 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Saturday, May 3 8:00 am - 5:30 pm Sunday-Wednesday May 4-7 6:00 am - 5:00 pm Thursday, May 8 7:30 am - 3:00 pm CE Forms CE forms will be included in your registration materials. They can be used to track CE credits and CRNI recertification. Simply complete the form and drop the white copy in the designated bins before you travel back home. If you re due to recertify this year, INCC will have recertification applications available for you as well.

2 In infusion therapy, you never stop learning, and at INS 2014, you ll never want to stop. You will leave INS 2014 with so much information that you ll need to pack an extra carry-on for all that extra knowledge! Schedule-At-A-Glance INS 2014 is jam-packed make sure you know where you re going! You can view the meeting Schedule-At-A-Glance now online in the Annual Convention section of the INS Web site. Onsite, you ll be given a Convention Journal Program (CJP) with an up-to-date schedule. There will also be signage near sessions and in common areas. Much of this information is also included in the INS Mobile App (access to which will be discussed under the Innovate section). Educational Sessions Most INS educational sessions are 50 minutes in length, in larger meeting rooms, and selfcontained on the 100 and 300 levels of the Phoenix Convention Center. Seating is first-come, first-served; there is no pre-registration for sessions. You must wear your badge for access to all meeting rooms and exhibits. Session Tracks - INS offers three distinct educational tracks with multiple sessions on a single topic. You do not need to stay for the entire program to earn CE/Recertification credits. The track sessions are: Substance Abuse Monday, May 5, 2-5 pm Technology Tuesday, May 6, 2-5 pm Caring for the Caregiver Wednesday, May 7, 2-5 pm Session Handouts Get a head start on your educational experience by viewing session handouts now on the Schedule-At-A-Glance section of the Annual Convention Web site. Handouts are also available on the INS Mobile App for your review both pre-meeting and onsite. Download the Guidebook app, tap Download Guides, and search INS 2014 to select our app. Keynote Speaker Monday, May 5, 9:00-10:00 am We are proud to welcome Alan Hobson as our keynote speaker. Three years after his third attempt to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, Alan came face-to-face with an even greater challenge: an aggressive cancer of the blood that left him with only a year to live. Through stem cell transplants and unflappable determination (and some very helpful nurses), Alan beat the odds and conquered the Everest of Illness.

3 At INS 2014, you never stop discovering the latest in new technologies and service. There are a number of opportunities to connect with our industry partners, extending your educational experience well beyond the classroom. Industrial Exhibition Open Monday, May 5-Wednesday May 7, 10:00 am -2:00 pm The INS Industrial Exhibition gives you one-on-one access to industry leaders who are launching the newest products on the market. There are a variety of exhibitors to visit, and at INS 2014, you ll have uninterrupted access to them. A list of exhibitors can be found at the Discover section of the INS meetings Web site and on the INS Mobile App. Lunch is served every day in the hall as well, compliments of INS. Many exhibitors will be conducting demonstrations and workshops on various infusion products and services in Exhibitor Theaters in the Industrial Exhibition during exhibit hours. Seating for most sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis, free to all attendees. Simulation Labs Simulation Labs are hands-on clinical labs that will teach you the proper use of infusion devices or administration of infusion medications. These labs will be set up in stations, with a trainer from the manufacturer at each station. Some may require pre-registration with the sponsor directly in advance. Check your inbox for updates. Daybreak Symposia INS is pleased to offer breakfast with a side order of education through four Daybreak Symposia. Supported by leaders in the infusion specialty, these educational programs will start your day right. The schedule for the symposia is shown below; each offers 1 CRNI recertification unit. 4 One of the most rewarding aspects of INS 2014 is the many opportunities to connect with colleagues from around the world. From social events to social media, at INS 2014 you ll interact with hundreds of infusion nurses, share experiences, and hopefully make a few new friends. Clean the World INS is pleased to partner with the Clean the World program for the second straight year. Clean the World works with hotels and associations to supply soap to developing countries. Providing this service goes a long way to prevent infections and save lives. A bin will be set up at the INS Bookstore, so bring unused soap and amenities from your hotel room or buy some to donate. Last year, the soap supplied by INS attendees totaled 126 pounds. Let s do even better this year! Tell the World at #INS2014 The power to connect with one another and share information around the world has never been more prevalent than it is today, thanks in large part to social media. While you re at INS 2014, make sure you share your photos, comments, and observations using the hashtag #INS2014. So if you tweet, post on Facebook, or Instagram it, make sure you use this hashtag and let the world know what s going on in the specialty. CRNI Lounge Debuting at the 2014 Annual Meeting this year, the VIP CRNI Lounge will offer exclusive access to a place where CRNI s can relax, socialize, and network. The lounge, located in West Building 101A, will feature breakfast in the mornings, free massages, and refreshments in the afternoons, as well as the opportunity to ask questions of INCC staff and meet INCC board and RN Council members. Speed Networking Monday, May 5 5:00-6:00 pm For the second straight year, INS is pleased to offer a Speed Networking session. It s a quick and easy way to break the ice and get to know many other attendees during a short amount of time. You ll be randomly seated across from another participant, given time to chat and see what you both may have in common, and when the buzzer rings, you ll move one seat over and begin again with a new partner. It s a fun and low-key way to meet infusion professionals like yourself and make connections that can extend beyond the meeting.

5 First-Time Attendee/Meeting Mentor Saturday, May 3, 10:00-11:00 am Attending INS 2014 for the first time? Join us for First-Time Attendee Orientation, and we ll guide you through the entire convention, from the must-attend events to how you earn your CEUs and everything in between. There, we will connect you with Meeting Mentors: past INS attendees who have volunteered to serve as a resource throughout the week. It s a great way to get the most information possible, and make a few new friends! Recipients of this year s Gardner Foundation Scholarships and Grants will be recognized, and we ll announce the winning Oral Abstract and e-poster presentations. It s a celebration of you and the specialty, so get ready to enjoy yourself. The evening will feature cocktails, dinner, music, and dancing. Business/cocktail attire is suggested.
