3 OUTREACH Westside Homeless Prevention Summer Camp Tuesday, June 26 Noon 2525 N. Gessner Drive Help serve lunch to students attending art camp. Volunteer at The Women s Home Food Pantry Thursday, June p.m Jacquelyn Drive You will guide clients as they shop at the pantry. At times, you will also help bag food and help prepare the pantry so that food is organized for distribution. You work directly with the clients so complete discretion is required, and a personable disposition is a great asset. Help at Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) Work Day Saturday, June 30 9 a.m. noon 3434 Branard Street Join us to organize and distribute food and clothing at CCSC Emergency Services. CCSC assists the poor, hungry, disabled and otherwise needy. They also provide job training and school vision screening. 4 Activities are held in the Hope and Healing Center & Institute building that is located on the eastern side of the St. Martin s Episcopal Church campus. We look forward to seeing you! Hearts Transformed Mondays through October 8 6:30 8 p.m. This is a curriculum-based support group for adult female survivors of childhood/adult sexual abuse/assault or domestic violence. This dynamic group provides a safe place for survivors to heal and rebuild their lives. Grief Support Group Tuesday, July 10 5:45 7 p.m. This group, which meets the second and fourth Tuesdays each month, is designed to help grieving participants process the intense emotional suffering associated with the loss of a loved one. Strategies for coping with the normal emotional and physical effects of grief such as loss, anger, emptiness, depression and exhaustion will help restore your stability and aid in recovery as you start to heal. Support Groups Support groups allow people affected by mental health difficulties and disorders to connect in a safe and supportive environment. Support groups are led by trained facilitators and community professionals, and teach coping skills, help reduce anxiety, build resiliency, and provide a place for people to share common concerns and receive emotional support. As Parish life moves toward graduations, marriages, anniversaries and vacationing parishioners, it is important that every Parish family consider and make their commitment to Building for the Ages. Our campaign for the campus renovation and expansion started at the end of March on Palm Sunday. Each week we see new pledges, but we still have many families who have yet to make a five-year commitment to help build what we need to serve our families today and tomorrow. Our campaign has been successful we will be excited to announce our first raised-to-date report in June. In the meantime, we would like to garner as many pledges as we can to help us close in on our $55 million costs for the important construction projects that make up Building for the Ages. Please pray about what you can commit for this historic campaign. Then, consider making your pledge via the Parish website at stmartinsepiscopal. org/building-for-the-ages or return the pledge card and envelope that you received in March.
