2 The Food Bank The Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank and Social Services Center is open 6 days a week, providing food, financial assistance, and case management. We serve about 1,500 families per month. Jan we served 32 homeless bags a week. Now it up to 70 bags a week. The address is 206 S. Tobin, Renton, WA 98057

3 United Way of King County provides quality free tax preparation services at The Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank. Free tax preparation is available for taxpayers who make less than $50,000 and who need basic individual tax returns. Taxes are prepared by IRS-trained and certified volunteers and electronically filed for a rapid refund. Tax season is January 15 to April 15. Program runs every Tuesday and Wednesday (5:00 9:00 pm) Sundays (12:00 4:00 pm)

4 Rotacare Free Medical Clinic The Renton Rotary leads Rotocare, a free medical clinic at The Salvation Army Renton Rotary Food Bank. There are 2 volunteer doctors and 2 volunteer nurses Open every Saturday from 9:00 11:00 am. Serving an average of 22 patients every Saturday.

5 Currently - there is a waiting list of 3 full pages. Up to 7 patients served per month. Free Adult Dental Clinic In partnership with Medical Teams International. Adults 16 and older can receive free treatment for their one most urgent dental need: fillings, bonding, extractions, blood pressure, tooth cleaning, etc. Service is first-come, first-serve; no appointments. Held once a month at the Food Bank.

6 B.O.O.S.T. Best Out Of School Time (B.O.O.S.T.) is an after-school program for Elementary and Junior High students which includes Homework Assistance, Life Skills, Object Lessons, Snacks, and Educational Games. Each child is assigned a mentor for that day. If they do not have homework they are assigned educational material to work on. Art and educational computer games are available after their homework is complete. Currently serving kids a day!

7 Youth Programs Every Thursday, we serve 60 children and youth during the Youth Programs. These programs are Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sunbeams, Moonbeams, Girl Guards, and youth group. Many of these children would otherwise be lingering in streets, or staying at home alone while parents are at work. Our goal here in Renton is to give our teens the type of experiences that will allow them to envision and pursue better futures, meet new friends and have fun!

8 Weekend Backpack In September 2008, we partnered with the Renton School District to distribute backpacks of food to children at risk of hunger over the weekends. With this new program, backpacks filled with 6 kid-friendly meals are delivered to the schools for check-out on Fridays and are returned by the students on Monday. It costs $12.00/backpack/week. Over 247 children got assistance last school year

9 Seniors Bible Study & Shopping Van Service Every Wednesday Evening a group of 14 seniors gather for fellowship, food, and Bible Study led by the Captain. The meetings are held at the Cedar River Terrace from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Salvation Army staff offer rides to a dozen seniors to go grocery shopping every Thurs. from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

10 Operation: Take Out Operation: Take Out began over 5 years ago as a group of volunteers working in conjunction with the Renton Food Bank to establish a home delivery service for those clients who would otherwise be unable to receive food supplies. This group has successfully completed monthly deliveries to dozens of homes in the local community with a stable group of committed volunteers. Food is delivered every 3 rd Saturday of the month. There are 32 seniors receiving the assistance at the moment.
