6 Commonly Asked Questions Can we use power tools? No. Due to liability concerns, we cannot allow volunteers to use power tools in the Atlanta BeltLine corridor. Can we hire a contractor to do work on our segment? Yes, but the contractor needs to meet Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. s insurance requirements. Let us know if you have a contractor you want to use so that we can have them work directly with Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. What do we do about urban campers? Please let us know if there are urban campers on your segment. Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is working closely with the Atlanta Police Department and the HOPE team to connect them with the services they need and respectfully remove them from the corridor. How do we get more training on invasive species? We will be posting videos on the website that will show you how to handle invasive species. All the spots are full. Is there a waiting list? Yes. Please sign up and we will let you know when a spot becomes available. What happens if our group can t meet our commitment? If you know that you are not able to meet your commitments, please let us know so that we can give your spot to someone on our waiting list. If it is evident to us that you are not able to visit and care for your segment regularly, we will notify you that we need to offer your spot to a group on our waiting list

8 What We Need From You To be organized/coordinated between two adopting groups on each segment Monthly walks of the segment to remove litter and report vandalism or suspicious activities Quarterly projects All:Art on the Atlanta BeltLine installation/de-installation, Atlanta BeltLine Spaces, improved corridor access Undeveloped segments: remove invasive plants and significant trash, plantings/landscaping or other approved projects Developed segments: Planting grasses and other vegetation based on the corridor design, other approved projects - 8 -

9 What We Need From You For all groups Advance notification so that necessary coordination can occur with Sanitation Department, Public Works, volunteer recruitment, etc. Monthly walks: At least one week in advance Quarterly projects: At least one month in advance Post-project report, including volunteer hours and pictures Open communication - 9 -
