On December 16, 2015, 9 families graduated from Session 26 of The 70/30 Project. During this session, the graduates were able to reach their individual goals and collectively paid off more than $27,000 in debt! One client was able to pay off all of their debt and increased their credit score by 100 points by the end of the session. In attendance for the graduation celebration were the clients, their family and friends, volunteer Money Management trainers and coaches, and BCM staff members and supporters. Refreshments and cake were also provided by the Seeds of Change Society for the attendees. Thanks to the generous donations from individual donors and the Seeds of Change Society members, every graduate received a framed certificate, Money Management book, planner and a Walmart gift card. We are extremely grateful for the Money Management trainers, coaches and supporters that dedicated their time and efforts to making sure this session was a success! Pictured Left to Right: Terry and Rebecca Clements (Money Management Trainers), Cameron Griffith (Money Manage Coach), Melissa and Johnny (Program Graduates), Mary Alvarez (The 70/30 Project Manager), Daphne Walker (Executive Director), and Eloise Williams (Services Director).

2 Emergency Assistance Reminders A New Database is Coming! We are excited to share that BCM will be launching a new client services database within the next month. The staff has been working hard to finalize the system and look forward to sharing more information with all volunteers very soon! January Volunteer of the Month CONGRATULATIONS, BETSY DUFFEY! Betsy joined BCM in 2014 as a Food Pantry volunteer. In the beginning of last year, Betsy began serving as a weekly Monday morning Hospitality volunteer. It s a joy to serve with Betsy who has a calm, warm spirit that comforts our clients and staff. Intake Volunteers: It s update time! Please make sure every client s file is updated with the following: Update form and white label. - Current lease or 2 pieces of official mail. If a client does not have a current lease on file, please ask for a new lease or 2 pieces of official mail (within the last 2 months). Thank you, Betsy! Nominate someone today to be the February Volunteer of the Month by ing your nomination to tiffanybanks@bcmatlanta.org. - ID for the household. Please remember to put the copies of photo ids, birth certificates or social security cards that are in the client s file in the front of the file after the update form. Food Pantry Volunteers: If bags of dried beans are not available, please substitute with a can of beans (1can = 1 bag). We have a lot of can beans on the shelves that we do not want to expire or go to waste. Also, packages of rice can be substituted with boxes of pasta, Hamburger Helper or other pasta meals. THRIFTique Volunteers: The next volunteer meeting with Robyn is scheduled for Friday, February 12th from 9:00am to 9:45am. BCM's Administration Office Under Construction Good news! The kitchen and flooring is now being repaired on the administration side of the building. Please excuse our appearance while we re under construction and make the necessary repairs. Also, we are asking all volunteers to please enter the building using the Client Service door. Thank you for your understanding and support! BCM Staff
