3 Community Presbyterian Church Founded in Del Obispo Street San Juan Capistrano, CA Phone: Community Conversations Staying Emotionally Healthy As We Age Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall Staying Emotionally Healthy as we Age is about paying attention to our spirit and that places a focus on depression, an illness that affects mind, body and spirit. It s not part of normal aging. Why is this important? Suicide is often an outcome of depression and suicide rates are increasing especially in older age ranges. What does depression look like? Why does it happen? What are the signs of suicide risk? What are the treatments for depression? This program will help you answer some of those questions. Our presenter is Cordula Dick-Muehlke, Ph.D., a consultant in aging and dementia and licensed psychologist, who has dedicated the past 34 years to understanding depression and to bettering the lives of people with Alzheimer s disease or another dementia and their families. Well-known for her expertise, she founded Cordula Cares in She is a consultant affiliated with Hoag Presbyterian Ministries. Please join us for an important discussion and conversation about this important topic! For more information, please contact Community Presbyterian Church at or visit our website at Community Conversations intent is to provide meaningful discussions, open to the entire community, at no cost. These community forums will occur approximately quarterly. Community Conversations will explore issues, opportunities, and responsibilities surrounding a variety of interesting and timely topics. The fourth quarter topic, tentatively in mid-november 2018, will be announced soon. All are welcome to come and to invite your neighbors!
