Mission and History The Center for FaithJustice The mission of the Center for FaithJustice is to inspire the next generation of leaders by creating programs to serve those in need & educate for justice in the Catholic tradition. Founded in 2007 by Sean Sanford (former youth minister in the Diocese of Metuchen) Provides transformative experiences of faith in action, builds community, serves those in need, educates for justice, and empowers people to change the world Join the words Faith and Justice into a single term to reflect our conviction that faith and justice are intimately bound together A private non-profit, grounded in Catholic spirituality and Social Teaching What makes us us and different than others in this same work? We serve as a partner in ministry with various parishes and schools

Our worx Programs ServiceworX A week-long service immersion day program (approximately 4 hours Sunday with times varying by location; Monday - Friday. ServiceworX takes place at local parishes and schools and is a life-changing program for junior high students that explores Catholic faith through service to those in need. ServiceworX is facilitated by passionate ministry staff who help participants live their faith through engaging prayer services, lively discussions, and dynamic community service. JusticeworX JusticeworX is a week-long service immersion retreat offered by the Center for FaithJustice, designed to help high school age students explore the connections between their faith, the Gospel call to service and justice, and their everyday lives. JusticeworX has proven to be a transformational experience for our program alumni who have gone on to a variety of leadership roles in the Church and in their communities. MercyworX MercyworX is a college credit bearing program offered through CFJ in partnership with Georgian Court University. Upon successful completion, participants can earn 3 college credits; transferable as theology or sociology. The full program consists of 3 weeks of online coursework and 1 week on campus class work and direct service/reflections. Cost $1000 for full program experience including 3 credits. Ideal for a current high school Junior.

The Center for FaithJustice also offers: FaithJustice Xperiences During the academic year, collegiate and high school groups are provided faithbased service immersions, primarily in Trenton, NJ. CFJ designs a customized program around individual schedules. LeaderworX Summer opportunity for young adults with at least one year of college completed (21+ for certain positions). Participants live in community, serve those in need, and help lead youth ministry projects. Provides personal and professional formation, leadership training, and vocational discernment. LeaderworX is a great opportunity for those considering a long-term service program, discerning how to make the world a better place, or just trying to figure out what s next in life. Custom Presentations on faith and social justice for parishes and schools Soup & Psalms A simple but powerful experience of faith and fellowship; turning our home into your home, to build up the community of faith and to dream together the Kingdom of God as we work for justice. TWO retreat spaces for groups to use September-May St. James (Trenton, NJ) The CASA (Lawrenceville, NJ)

Summer 2017 Highlights A prayer that does not lead you to practical action for your brother the poor, the sick, those in need of help, a brother in difficulty is a sterile and incomplete prayer. But, in the same way... when time is not set aside for dialogue with him in prayer, we risk serving ourselves and not God present in our needy brother and sister. ~Pope Francis, 7/21/13

What is? A week-long, service immersion experience specifically designed for middle schoolers. Combines service-learning with opportunities to explore the Catholic faith, learn what service means to discipleship, and what the experience will mean to their lives moving forward.

So how DOES ServiceworX teach us to live as disciples?
