It is through your gift of service that we carry out the mission of the Church, to be the living presence of Jesus to one another. If your area of ministry serves children, youth, or vulnerable adults, there are guidelines that help to create the best possible environment for our community. These guidelines include a Code of Conduct, VIRTUS Safe Environment Training, 123B form (which you will need to download and complete) and a Background Check. Please see the letter on the back of this form describing this in more detail. Thank you for sharing your gifts with our school, parish and Church as we all strive to build God s Kingdom here at St. Vincent de Paul. Please return this form along with the required completed documents to the parish or school office when all tasks are completed. Note that you will not be able to participate as a volunteer until all tasks are completed. 2 FALL 2016 Re: Enhanced Essential 3 for New Volunteers Dear Volunteer, A key to our commitment to promoting safe environments in our parishes, Catholic schools and communities is for all persons in positions of trust in regard to minors and vulnerable adults to fulfill the Enhanced Essential 3 requirements (EE3). The EE3 relates to 1) the code of conduct, 2) safe environment training and 3) background checks, with re-credentialing required every three years. Your involvement at St. Vincent de Paul as a volunteer who interacts with children, youth or vulnerable adults warrants compliance with the Archdiocese s Safe Environment requirements. You will be required to set up a VIRTUS account by logging on to NOTE: If you previously attended a VIRTUS session at any parish, please do not create a new account; you MUST log in using your existing account. Change your main parish to St. Vincent de Paul. The system will take you through signing of the Code of Conduct online as well as requesting information for a Background Check. Please proceed through all of the steps to ensure you are properly registered with VIRTUS. Here is what is asked specifically of you: Register and attend a live VIRTUS training session Read and sign the online Code of Conduct Complete the Background Check Questionnaires online Download and complete the form labeled 123B. Submit to the Parish or School Office. Your participation in the Enhanced Essential 3 will make our local Church a safer environment for all.
