2 Are You Ready for Island Living? Sanibel Island is one of Southwest Florida s most picturesque island escapes. Why not join this lucky community? Climate Sanibel Island, like the rest of Southwest Florida, has a subtropical climate, meaning every day is a beach day! From April to September, temperatures typically range from 85F-95F with high humidity and scattered afternoon showers, especially in the late summer months. From October to March, temperatures usually hover around 70F-80F, but a nice ocean breeze can make for some chilly winter evenings. Beach Life Sanibel Island is home to several beaches, each boasting one-of-a-kind views and plenty of opportunities for wildlife sighting. Because of the island s unique east-west orientation, all of Sanibel s beaches have an abundance of beautiful shells constantly washing up on the shore.

The Sanibel School is a K-8 institution that offers excellence in education, while partnering with Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Shell Club, and other organizations to give students a chance to learn more about the island they call home. While there is not a high school located on the island, students will have the opportunity to take the bus to a Lee County high school. 4 East End The East End is the first part of Sanibel Island that visitors and residents pass through as they exit the Sanibel Causeway. Easy on & Off the Island. Featured Neighborhoods The Dunes - featuring luxury homes, an 18-hole golf course, pool, clubhouse restaurant, tennis club, and deeded beach access Anchors Away - canal-front homes with in walking distance of the beach and fishing pier. This area is mostly residential. Sanibel/Captiva Road From the Causeway, the West End of Sanibel Island is about a 30 minute drive, but it is one of the most scenic routes the island has to offer.
