2 Dear Nutribyte Client Nutribyte launched in 2014 as a small family business with the sole purpose of manufacturing premium grade diets at a very affordable price. We consulted with a respected animal nutritionist and a leading Veterinarian, where after the first diet was formulated as a standard maintenance diet for adult dogs. In 2015 we realized that we needed to improve on the already successful Adult Maintenance diet, by fortifying it with specialized additives like Glucosamine, MOS (Mannan Oligosaccharide) and Beta Glucan. Ultimately the addition of these additives would separate Nutribyte from most retail brands that do not contain additional additives. New research showed that some South African dogs were prone to allergic skin reactions associated with bovine/beef proteins and fat. For this reason, we decided to formulate the Nutribyte range on a bovine-free basis. It was ultimately decided to use exclusively imported, low-ash, poultry and pork proteins, along with a more refined and higher quality fat and oil coating, consisting only of Poultry and Ostrich fat and some essential vegetable oils. In 2016 we started formulating the 2 puppy diets, along with the senior diet to once again offer clients and their beloved friends the best possible nutrition at the most affordable price! In 2017 we optimized these formulas which led us to finally introduce a premium, fortified dog food range, suitable for dogs of all breeds, age and sizes! Nutribyte will soon expand to the rest of the pet food market and plans to include products like cat food, fish food, etc. Be sure to monitor our website and Facebook page for any new developments. 3 Manufacturing & Quality Control Pre Production Nutribyte uses a renowned factory, fully approved by Act 36 of 1947, to manufacture the Nutribyte range. We are proud to say that we use a fixed formula on all diets, meaning that every batch of Nutribyte made is exactly the same as the last. This allows for a healthier lifestyle and avoids nutritional imbalances. All ingredients are tested pre-production to ensure that they conform to the necessary specifications. Ingredients are also tested for mycotoxins and other impurities. Production Unique to all Nutribyte diets Nutribyte offers six premium diets including cat food, making Nutribyte a premium pet food company. Each diet is formulated uniquely for a certain life stage, breed or size of your pet. Nutribyte plans to release a specialised range called "Nutribyte Specific", which will be formulated for specific conditions or needs, like Active Dog, Recovery etc. Although diets may differ in the way they are formulated, all Nutribyte diets are made using the following ingredients: omega 3/6 Once all ingredients have been tested, they are milled individually and then mixed together to create the unique formula. All ingredients are milled at 0.8mm size, to optimize digestion and to ensure that the extrusion process runs smoothly. The vitamin & mineral premix, along with the other additional additives like Glucosamine, MOS & FOS, Beta Glucan, etc. are added and mixed thoroughly into the batch. Nutribyte uses an independent quality controller to make ensure the correct procedures are followed at all times throughout the entire run. He monitors: Kibble sizing Moisture and water activity Universal coating Sufficient drying NIR lab testing Final inspection before bagging Should the batch not conform to any one of these standards, the entire batch is rejected and the process starts over. We do not allow any deviations or shortcuts. High quality proteins Proteins and amino acids are the building blocks for a healthy body. Proteins build and repair muscle tissue and hair. High Quality carbohydrate sources Energy is fuel which enables the body to function. Needed for growth, reproduction, lactation and other bodily functions. High quality Fats and Oils Source of energy including Omega 6 & 3 fatty acids for a healthy skin and coat. High quality Vitamins and Minerals Needed for key metabolic functions, enzymes, optimal nerve function and electrolytic balance. Post Production After manufacturing, samples are sent to an independent laboratory to run a wetchem analysis, (which is far more accurate than a standard NIR), to analyze the final product. The wetchem analysis will immediately and accurately confirm, if the feed is according to specifications. If the product does not test as it is registered according to Act 36/1947, the batch is rejected as by law. Bovine proteins are hugely associated with skin allergies. Only Poultry and Porcine protein meals are used. The unique fat and oil blend is higher in Omega 3 & 6, assisting a sensitive skin.
