4 COURSE DESCRIPTION paradigm has shifted from episodic treatment of chronic disease to continuous process of keeping the patient well, stable and able to manage the chronic disease at home. Te chnological advances from disparate areas such as digital health to robotic surgery are changing how we diagnose and treat gastrointestidigital technologies from multi-sensor monitoring to telehealth in the modern practice of gastroenterthese new technologies to the provider who works in small community practices. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of the course participants will be able to: Explore the value and role of new digital technologies, including telemedicine in the setting of a practicing GI specialist. Critically evaluate new endoscopic techniques and advances in EUS and other endoscopic techniques. Assess the impact of new regional therapies, transplantation and surgical resection in the treatment of liver and gastrointestincal cancers. Evaluate the potential impact of new treatments for chronic hepatitis, hepatic steatosis and other liver diseases. Interpret the role of new minimally invasive surgical techniques for gastrointestinal diseases. Discuss the impact of new pay ment models in the delivery of care for various gastrointestinal cancers. TARGET AUDIENCE medical oncologists, gastroenterologists and all allied health professionals who seek to enhance their options to optimize management of their patients.
