1 Saving money by spending smarter! What is a preferred pharmacy network? This is a network of pharmacy partners who have agreed to work with us to keep plan costs low. This will allow your trust to provide you with better benefits for a longer time. There are over 129 pharmacies and pharmacy chains in the StelTrust PPN. If you have a question, or would like to suggest that a pharmacy be included, us at stelcobenefitstrust@gmail.com. How will a PPN save us money? Pharmacies apply a markup on the prescriptions they fill for you. Some pharmacies charge as much as 21% on top of the cost of the drug. This can add up to a lot of money on prescriptions that may cost thousands of dollars each. Our pharmacy partners have agreed to limit mark-ups to 10% on brand drugs and 8% on generic drugs. They also have agreed to charge only $7 to fill a prescription. Together these measures can save your plan and you thousands of dollars a year. What do I need to do? Go to one of the pharmacies listed on the following pages. Tell the pharmacist you are with the Stelco non-usw retiree benefits trust (StelTrust) and show them your GSC ID card. If this is a new pharmacy for you, they can easily transfer all of your prescriptions over to their store with one phone call. You don t need to do anything. And, ask them about other services and deals they might have for StelTrust retirees. If your pharmacy isn t on the list, tell your pharmacist your plan only pays 10% mark-up on brand drugs, 8% on generic and a $7 dispensing fee. If your pharmacy won t adjust its price, say thanks, but no thanks. You can choose to pay the extra cost out of your own pocket. Or you can get the exact same drug at a preferred price through our all-new Preferred Pharmacy Network (PPN).
