Download "Trainer Resource Monitoring a Client s Progress & Program Feedback"

1 Use these step-by-step instructions to help you monitor a client s progress & coach through program feedback. Access your client s program through their details page in the Members area or your Administrative Console. 1. It is time for a progress check. Enter the client s weight. 2. If your client is on track, you ll see the results and encouragement to keep up the good work. Trainer Resource 1

2 3. If the client is off track, you ll see the results and personalized feedback to help them stay on track. Since this program is tracking weight only, the results are based solely on changes in weight. 4. If you choose to learn why the weight was different than expected, you ll get an informational article. 5. You can choose to keep the current deficit and extend the goal date or change the daily deficit to reach the goal by the original date, which will provide a NEW calorie intake target, new menus if needed and a new average calorie deficit. This takes renewed commitment! 6. If you choose to start a new program, the goal page appears to create a new program. Trainer Resource 2

3 7. If you re tracking weight and body fat to measure progress, you ll be prompted for a Progress Check every 14 days. Type in the measurements and click Enter. This is an example of a weight loss program 8. Changes in pounds of fat only since the start of the program is shown. If the client is off track, you ll get tips and options for getting back on track or making an adjustment. 9. When the goal is reached, you ll get a Congratulations note and will be prompted to start a new program. 10. Progress Checks for muscle gain goals, tracking weight occur every 7 days. Trainer Resource 3

4 11. Feedback is based on changes in weight only. 12. Progress Checks for muscle gain goals tracking weight and body fat occur every 14 days. Once you enter the measurements, feedback will appear. 13. If NOT gaining steadily, you ll get nutritional tips and various options. Don t forget your supplement recommendations! 14. If the client is losing muscle or gaining fat undesirably, you ll get different information along with various options. Trainer Resource 4

5 15. If you choose to learn why the weight was different than what you expected, you ll get this article explaining the possible reasons. 16. If it s past the goal date, you ll still get feedback but you must start a new program. Special Note: Feedback options will vary according to the individual s starting weight, goal and goal date. Certain options will not appear because the program is designed to follow safe weight control guidelines. For example, the program will not allow the calorie intake target to drop below 1,000 calories if you weigh less than 200 lbs; 1250 calories if you weigh between lbs; 1500 calories if you weigh more than 250 lbs. In other cases, the goal cannot be reached by the goal date with the current calorie intake and calorie burn targets and therefore the feedback will not include the option to Keep the program the same. The actual path taken in an attempt to correct a client that is not tracking toward their goal is something that must be decided upon by you, not a computer program. Usually taking away more food is not the best place to begin but you know the client dynamics and you must employ the strategies that will be the most realistic for the client s success. Your mindset should be to get the client to their goal with the most food possible and the least amount of work. Ultimately how much their lifestyle is able to bend or conform will determine where they end up.
