Daytime Cancer Support Group Thursdays, July 7 th, July 21 st, August 4 th & August 18 th, Evening Cancer Support Group Tuesdays, July 5 th, July 19 th, August 2 nd & August 16 th, at Michiana Hematology Oncology These groups are open to all survivors and caregivers with any cancer. Saturday in the Garden Saturdays, July 16 th & August 20 th 10 am-12 pm If you love to be outside or would like to help in the RiverBend Gardens, this group is for you. *Call us to find out the special projects we have planned. Lunch Bunch Wednesdays, July 27 th & August 31 st, 12-1:30 pm Join us for an informal, light lunch and get the chance to mingle with friends. Family Group Wednesdays, July 6 th & August 3 rd, 5:30 7 pm Information and support for parents diagnosed with cancer and their children. Reservations are required. Card Game Meetup Wednesdays, July 6 th & August 3 rd 2-3 pm Play card games and connect with other survivors and caregivers. GynaGirls Mondays, July 11 th & August 1 st, 4:30-5:30 pm This group has been supporting women with gynecological cancers for more than 10 years all are welcome. Multiple Myeloma Support Group Wednesdays, July 27 th & August 24 th, 6-8 pm This group offers support to everyone impacted by Multiple Myeloma. African American Women in Touch Mondays, July 18 th & August 15 th, 5:30-7 pm This group supports and educates African American women and families about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Lymphedema Support Group Thursdays, July 28 th & August 25 th, Facilitated by certified lymphedema therapists, this group supports anyone experiencing side effects of lymphedema. Michiana NuTones and SPHONC Support Group Sundays, July 17 th 1:30-3:30 pm & August 21 st, 12:30-2 pm Support is provided for people who have had laryngectomies, head, oral and neck cancers.
Sacred Path Walking a Labyrinth with Kevin Ladd, PhD, IUSB Faculty Wednesday, July 13 th, 2 3 pm People all over the world are discovering that the ancient practice of walking labyrinths not only solves problems, but also soothes the nerves, calms the soul, mends the heart, and heals the body. Kevin Ladd, PhD will discuss types of labyrinths, where you can find labyrinths in our community, and more. The Power of Meditation and Mindfulness with Shadia Alam, MD, The Medical Foundation Thursday, July 14 th, 5 6 pm Mindfulness and meditation are known to have a positive emotional and psychological impact on cancer survivors. Shadia Alam, MD, will discuss the benefits of these practices. Introduction to Reiki and Energy Work Thursday, August 4 th, 5:30 6:30 pm The American Cancer Society regards Reiki as a safe, complimentary cancer therapy. Reiki is an ancient, noninvasive hands on relaxation and healing technique dating back several thousands of years. Learn about Reiki in this introductory session. Pelvic Floor Exercises for Intimacy and Sexuality with Anne Clifford, DPT, Memorial Hospital Thursday, August 11 th, 5:30 6:30 pm The pelvic floor is a group of muscles on the bottom of the pelvis that provide support for the pelvic organs, control bladder and bowel elimination and sexual function. Like any muscle, they can become tight or weak. Anne Clifford, DPT, will go through various exercises to help strengthen this group of muscles.
