Yusef *** * (Received 7 / 2 / Accepted 3/2/ ) ABSTRACT This search was aimed t study the transmissin f Cucumber msaic cucumvirus (CMV) and Alfalfa msaic alfamvirus (AMV) via pepper seeds f different surces: Under experiment and uncertified pepper accessins seeds; Lcally prduced and marketed pepper seeds; Farmers seeds f unknwn varieties; Seeds cllected frm CMV infected pepper plants f unknwn varieties frm Hamah prvince fields; A mixture f seeds cllected frm certified pepper varieties mechanically inculated with CMV and AMV separately. Samples were tested using tissue print immunbinding assay against CMV and AMV antibdies. Results shwed the transmissin f CMV and AMV via pepper seeds in varius ratis accrding t the seed surces. The percentage f CMV seed transmissin was higher than AMV seed transmissin in all tested surces except in an accessins seeds. The highest CMV (65%) and AMV (5%) seed transmissin were bserved in seeds cllected frm certified pepper varieties which were separately inculated with CMV and AMV. Very lw seed transmissin rati (0-2%) fr bth viruses were bserved in uncertified pepper accessins seeds.
