2 1. INTRODUCTION M/s. Shree Hari Chemicals is a working unit situated at Plot 78/5, Phase-I, GIDC Vatva, Ahmedabad, manufacturing Pharma intermediates. Unit has now proposed expansion of existing products as well as manufacturing of other Products. After expansion Production capacity will be 82. The proposed expansion will be carried out within the same premises. The unit is promoted by Mr. Prahladbhai Patel. 2. COST OF PROJECT Existing cost of project is Rs. 4 crores. Cost for proposed expansion will be Rs. 2 crore. Out of which 0.4 Crore will be used for EMS. 3. Details of manpower Present 14 nos. of skilled and unskilled persons are employed by the unit. Proper Stack height and APC measure will be provided in order to achieve norms prescribed by statutory authority. At present the main source of gaseous emission is flue gas due to combustion of Diesel for boiler & Thermic Fluid heater. The flue gas emission contains SPM, SO 2 and NO x as air pollutants. The process gas stack is attached to SO 2 scrubber having stack height of 15 m. The process gas emission contains SO 2 as air pollutants. After expansion, additional source will be one stack for additional boiler, where agro briquettes will be used as a fuel and other one is for process vent. Two stage ic and one stage alkaline Scrubber systems will be provided to recover Sodium Nitrite (25%) and meeting the emission norms laid down by GPCB. The details of stacks are given below: M/s. And 5.8 KLD RO permeate will be reused in plant activity. Domestic wastewater will be disposed through soak pit. Source and disposal of Hazardous wastes There will be six types of hazardous waste generation i.e. ETP sludge, used oil, Iron sludge, discarded containers/liners, Distillation Residue, Spent Catalyst, and sodium nitrite from scrubber. ETP sludge will be disposed off at TSDF site, used oil will be disposed by selling to authorized recycler and discarded containers/liners will be disposed by selling to registered recyclers. Iron Sludge will be sell to cement manufacturer. Distillation Residue will be disposed at CHWIF or co- M/s. Shri Hari Chemicals - 6 -

9 FUNDS FOR POLLUTION CONTROL MEASURES The management is quite conscious of its responsibility for maintaining clear environment adequate funds can be provided for the pollution control measures as financing part of overall project. Necessary provision for Environmental management system is in practice. 8. MONITORING FACILITIES Air sampling will be done by outside agency and will be part of practice in future expansion projects. 9. CONCLUSION On the basis of information presented in the pre-feasibility report on pollution control measures and after its implementation, there will be no discharge of effluent and air emission from the plant beyond the norms specified by the Board as per the provisions of Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) M/s.
