3 THT COMPANY HISTORY THT is a Belgian company specialized into the selection and the production of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) for health ingredients application (probiotics) and for food-processing (meat starters and bio-protection starters) The company was founded in 1991 by Pr. Philippe Thonart (University of Liège). THT offers hundreds of probiotics formulations including more than 30 bacteria s strains. THT s strains catalogue is becoming more and more important. These strains were selected for their technological and health benefit properties. THT exports towards more than 30 countries all around the world. For more than 20 years, THT has developed a unique know-how to control steps of selections and productions. The company got ISO 9001 and ISO certifications in December 2014, which means permanent efforts to take into account costumers requirements, to implement continuous improvement and to release safe products. Bacterial strains are usually mixed together in order to develop the right formulation for different probiotics market segments (intestinal flora, immune enhancement, vaginal flora, etc.). We can develop formulations with other active ingredients. Such as prebiotics fibers (inulin, FOS, GOS, XOS), digestive enzymes, vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, etc. THT is always open discuss multi-ingredient formulations with our partners.
