2 1 Harpenden Schools network Welcome Uno bus currently operate bus 620 between Redbourn and Harpenden which currently carries school passengers between these points and we are looking to introduce two new parallel services 646 and 647 in order to cover the loss of some existing school contract services operated on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council. 646 Flamstead Redbourn Harpenden (Roundwood Park School) 647 Flamstead Redbourn Harpenden (Sir John Lawes, St Georges and Roundwood Park) A diagram showing the new Harpenden Schools network is shown on the following page (Figure 1). Timetables for buses 657, 646 and 647 between Flamstead, Redbourn and Harpenden are shown on page 4. For details of a new school bus between Markyate and Roundwood Park school please refer to Centrebus 846 service. Students looking to travel from Markyate to St Georges School and Sir John Lawes Schools can travel by Centrebus service 34 and 46 between Markyate and Redbourn High Street and change there onto bus 647 to the above schools. Tickets for these journeys can be obtained through Centrebus.

3 2 Background information Buses and 647 are operated commercially by Uno as local bus services and are therefore available to the general public. It is planned that bus 646 will be operated by a double deck vehicle and bus 647 by a single decker. This maybe varied in response to advance sales of annual and term tickets. Therefore Customers are encouraged to purchase an annual or term ticket prior to the end of July to help us plan the level of capacity required. Both services will be operated by a small panel of regular drivers and for peace of mind the vehicles allocated to this service will be fitted with CCTV systems. It should be noted that the daily and weekly fares quoted are the current fares and maybe increased in line with our general bus fares (the price of Autumn term tickets and annual passes are fixed for the period of their validity.) Annual tickets are subject to a special discount price if purchased prior to 24 th August 2012 (see details on page 5). These tickets can be purchased through our customer services office by phone ( ) or via website : This facility will be available from Monday 18 th June All the prices quoted are Child fares which offer great value but they are only available to children in possession of an HCC Saver card. Full details of how to obtain a Saver card are available on the Intalink website ( ) Please note that the cost of obtaining a Saver card will be subject to increase from September Uno network tickets (day/weekly/ monthly) are not valid on buses 646 and 647. However tickets for buses 646 and 647 are valid on bus 657 which provides for later departures from Harpenden to Redbourn in the event of attending after school activities.
