2 Course information This course introduces advances and new perspectives of state-of-the-art paediatric imaging to young radiologists who want to keep up with the latest developments in their specialty. The teaching material comprises lectures and workshops on a variety of topics ranging from CNS and bone imaging to oncology and child abuse. For each topic specialised and distinguished European paediatric radiologists have been chosen to ensure a high-quality teaching programme. Learning objectives to be able to recognise the most common disorders and emergencies to become familiar with advanced imaging techniques, their strengths and limitations and their optimal usage to develop decision-making capabilities with respect to protocol choice, differential diagnosis and management of the patient to recognise and reduce areas of potential error in radiologic imaging, interpretation, communication and safety

Argyropoulou, Ioannina/GR to learn about the principles of DTI, fmri and Voxel wise techniques to become familiar with advanced imaging protocols to understand how best to use these techniques in the most common CNS disorders Fetal Body MR imaging M. Cassart, Brussels/BE to have an overview of the fetal thoracoabdominal anomalies and malformations to define the indications for MRI in fetal thoracoabdominal diseases to define the complementary role of MRI in the diagnosis and prognosis of such pathologies Imaging the temporal bone in children M. Elmaleh-Bergès, Paris/FR to differentiate temporal bone imaging specificities due to postnatal growth from pathologic findings to list the main aetiologies of conductive deafness with normal eardrum in children to conduct a segmental analysis of the different components of the inner ear on CT and/or MR to depict abnormalities in children with congenital sensorineural hearing loss to evaluate the respective contributions of CT and MR in cochlear implant candidates work-up Imaging the lungs in children: what we need to know C. Barber, Barcelona/ES to learn about the role of plain films, US, CT, MR and nuclear medicine in the diagnostic work-up of inflammatory and infectious skeletal disorders in children - when to do what? to review the imaging findings in inflammatory and infectious skeletal disorders - when is surgery necessary? to become familiar with challenging cases and pitfalls Imaging in child abuse C. Adamsbaum, Paris/FR to become familiar with patterns of lesions occurring in the context of child abuse to learn about imaging protocols and how best to report on imaging findings to be able to recognise the most common differential diagnoses Advances in bowel imaging in children M. Raissaki, Heraklion/GR to underscore the value of adequate ultrasonographic technique and demonstrate the utility of colour Doppler and panorama imaging for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders in children to present the technique of MR enterography in children and demonstrate the emerging role of diffusion weighted imaging to discuss the role of hydrosonography, elastography and contrast-enhanced ultrasound
