2 EUROPEAN SCHOOL OF RADIOLOGY The European School of Radiology (ESOR) is an established and growing project, fulfilling the mission of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) in the field of education. Its main goal is to assist in harmonising radiological education in Europe. With its wide range of activities, ESOR additionally aims to raise standards in the field of scientific radiology, to extend and coordinate teaching resources worldwide and to help young radiologists to obtain the knowledge and skills to fulfil tomorrow s requirements. ESOR stands for education in partnership. AIMS, the ESOR Visiting Seminars, are materialised in partnership with the Korean Society of Radiology, the Mexican Federation of Radiology and the Mexican Society of Radiology. This opened up a long-term creative opportunity for an educational bridge and scientific integration in radiology between Europe and Mexico, which is made possible by an unrestricted grant from

3 WELCOME TO AIMS MEXICO Dear Colleagues, The AIMS programme has been set up by ESOR to establish educational links and exchange between ESR and National Radiological Societies outside Europe. As of 2013, the programme has been expanded to establish a working partnership with the Mexican Federation of Radiology (FMRI) and the Mexican Society of Radiology (SMRI). This opened up a long-term creative opportunity for an educational bridge and scientific integration in radiology between Europe and Mexico, which is made possible by an unrestricted grant from Bracco. In 2018, two seminars will be held, focusing on Chest and Abdominal Oncologic Imaging. The chosen venues are Mexico City and Guadalajara. The educational programmes will be delivered jointly by renowned European speakers and esteemed Mexican lecturers in an effort to create additional opportunities in exchanging expertise and enhancing scientific ties. We do hope that such an international cooperation responds to and addresses actual needs, at the same time offering scientific synergies and partnership envisioned to flourish on a larger scale. They are articulated on advanced imaging strategies, diagnostic criteria and challenges when dealing with some of the most important chest and abdominal malignancies. An outstanding European and Mexican faculty will ensure a high-quality teaching programme, combining lectures and interactive case discussions. As of 2012, the programme has been expanded in Asia to enhance the close partnership with the Korean Society of Radiology (KSR) in the field of radiological education and research. This opened up an added longterm opportunity for scientific collaboration in Radiology between Korea and Europe, through an educational bridge, which is made possible by an unrestricted grant from Bracco. The educational programmes are delivered jointly by highly esteemed Korean lecturers and renowned European speakers in an effort to create additional opportunities in exchanging expertise and enhancing scientific collaboration. In 2018, it is KSR s great pleasure to welcome the programme with one seminar, dedicated to Multimodality Paediatric Body Imaging, in Seoul/Korea on July 7. This is aimed at board-certified radiologists and specialists. Korean members will have the opportunity to update their knowledge in Paediatric Imaging and to make a prosperous relationship with ESR/ESOR. The programme consists of lectures and workshops and is limited to a specified number of participants, allowing an interactive character and encouraging informal and free communication between participants and lecturers. KSR greatly appreciates the contributions and efforts by ESOR and its faculty members towards the ESR/KSR relationship. It is designed to provide an in-depth review and an update on focused and demanding subjects regarding the paediatric body, including congenital lung disease, 4D thoracic CT, paediatric IBD, neonatal cholestasis, congenital genitourinary abnormalities and abdominal tumours in children. An outstanding European and Korean faculty will ensure a high-quality teaching programme, combining lectures and workshops, allowing for interactive case discussions. Learning objectives to appreciate the potential of advanced imaging in the clinical management of children with congenital and acquired diseases to review state-of-the-art imaging strategies available for imaging children according to the ALARA principle to address the most important clinical questions, which need to be answered, in optimising management of children with diseases affecting chest and abdomen 10
