1 Baptists Will Host Payton 'At Norwood The Norwood Baptist Church is participating in the World Mission Conference, sponsored by the Stanly Baptist Association, November 2-7. This church will entertain Rev. Neal L. Peyton. Mr. Peyton, a native of Iowa, is missionary to the deaf of North Carolina, working in cooperation with the Home Mission Board and the N. C. Baptist Convention. He was appointed by the Home Mission Board in 1961 as a student missionary to the deaf of Eastern N. C., and in 1963became a regular, full-time missionary, serving the entire state. Rev. W. D. Huneycutt, pastor, said that Mr. Peyton will be heard Sunday morning, November 2, at ; Norwood. 2 Baptists To Hear Associate Missionary To N. G. Deaf Dr. Toby Hance, rmssionar chairman for the First Baptist church of Leaksville, announced this week that the Rev. Neal L. Peyton will speak at the church at 11 a.m. March 5 in observance of the Week of Prayer for the Rome Missions. The Rev. Peyton was born and reared in Iowa. He attended Iowa State college for two years and then joined the Army. While in the Army he became a Christian and was called to preach tor the deaf. After getting out of service, he completed work for his B. A. degree at Howard college in Birmingham, Ala., at the same time serving as minister to the deaf at Woodlawn Baptist church there. He attended Midwestern Seminar in Kansas City, Mo., for one year and finished his' B. D. degree at Southeastern Seminary at Wake Forest. Since that time, he has been an associate missionary the deaf in North Carclna. He married and has three boys.

Neal Peyton will be guest speaker for a three-day revival beginning Friday evening at Rosemary B apt i s t ; Church.- Well-known to the non-hearing and non-speaking, people of North and South Carolina and Virginia, he is associated with the Department of Missions, North Carolina Baptist State Convention. The Rev. Peyton was b 0 r n and grew up in Iowa. While in the Army he was called to preach to the deaf. He completed his degree from Howard College in Birmingham, Ala. The minister also attended Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, Mo. for one year and then finished his B. D. degree at Southeastern Bap-. tist Seminary at Wake Fores't. There will be a special fellowship supper for the deaf and people of Rosemary Baptist Saturday evening at 6 o'clock in the church. All non - hearing and nonspeaking people of this area are invited to attend 'the revival services beginning at 7:30. He also will speak at 8:45 a. m. Sunday morning, according to the Rev. B. Neal Peyton, associate missionary to the deaf in North Carolina for the Baptist State Convention, will be guest speaker at the 8:45 a. m. Family Worship Service Sunday at Rosemary Baptist Church. In the absence of Rev. B. Marshall White-Hurst, minwho will conduct services at Caledonia Correction Institute Sunday, Joe Bryant will assist in this service. A special invitation is extended to all non-hearing and non-speaking people of the Roanoke Rapids area to attend this service. Rev. Peyton was born and grew up in Iowa and attended Iowa State college for two years before joining the army. While in the Army he became a Christian and was called to preach to the deaf. The television program, "A Light Unto My Path," is another means of reaching five or six thousand deafin North Carolina.

He became a full-time missionary, serving the entire state in 1%3. In 1978, he became director, Special Ministries Department in North Carolina which serves the deaf, blind and mentally retarded. A native of Iowa, Peyton attended Iowa State College in Ames, and is a graduate of Samford University, Birmingham, Ala., and Southeastern.Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest. During the Mission Program, Peyton will share with our church how we may become aware of persons who are deaf, blind or mentally retarded and how we can provide a ministry with such persons. Peytan Baptists Plan M rssrons Schools AULANDER- Schools of Missions are being planned for the churches of the West Chowan Baptist Association for the weeki. of March and 26-31, when m iss ion aries will come from around the world to speak in the churches. In add i t10 n to "foreign" mtsstonartss, there will be "home" missionaries who serve in various parts of the United States, and " s tat e" missionaries who are carrying on mission work in different areas of North Carolina. Study classes are being held in Inost o~the churches concerning the Baptist "pioneer" work in, New Mexico, Idaho, Ohio, New; York and elsewhere where there are not many Southern Baptists and where there is a need for Christian work. During the Schools of Missions, the churches w1ll be divided into groups of seven, and each church will hear seven different mlsstonarfas from these different places. Meetings will be held Sunday morning and Sunday night, and then each night, Monday through Friday. The Rev. Neal F. Peyton will be the guest missionary for the Union Baptist Church. While in the Army, he became a Christian, and felt called to preach to the deaf. He earned his B.A. degree from Howard College in Birmingham, Ala., and mea n- while he served as minister to the deaf at the WoodlawnBaptist Church. Later he attended Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., and finished his work at ~outheastel'n Seminary for his B.D. degree. Since that time he 'has been an associate missionary to the deaf in North CarOlina, and travels throughout the state assisting the deaf in every way POSSible, not only preaching, but helping them with their problems, and even OffiCiatingat weddings. The Rev. Mr. Peyton is married and has three boys. He will be the guest of the Union Church March 19-24, and will speak in the Conway, Severn, Roberts Chapel, Meherrin, Murfreesboro, Win ton and Union churches.

Peyton of Wake Forest will be the guest speaker for revival services to be held Sunday through Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of IGranite li'lrfis. He received his theological education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City. Mo., and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest. While a student at Howard College, he served as pastor-interpreter for the deaf congregation of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Birmingham. An Army veteran, he is married to the former JoAnn Blackwood, and il the father of three children. Services will be held at 11 a. m. and 7 p. m. Sunday and 7:30 p. m. Monday-Wednesday. The Rev. Neal L. Peyton, missionary to the deaf in North Carolina, will be the guest minister for the revival services. Mr. Peyton, a native of Iowa, is working with the deaf in the state in cooperation with the Home Mission BoaJJL..lInf!the N.C. BaptIStCOnvention.He was appointed by the Home Mission Board and the N.C: Baptist Convention.
