1 Riverside Chatter Three Rivers District United Methodist Women Aug 2016 The organized unit of the United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to EXPERIENCE FREEDOM as whole persons through JESUS CHRIST, to develop a creative, supportive FELLOWSHIP, and to expand concepts of MISSION through participation in the global ministries of the church. If you know of someone capable of simple computer skills we could use their gifts. This fall your mission team is giving the program on UMW Missions around the world. It is very interactive and I challenge you to come and participate. Since both mine and Marge Winkle s tenure is ending you can expect some exciting changes in the next year. 4 Annual Celebration Rooted in the past growing into the future The annual celebration will take place at Mentor United Methodist church 8600 Mentor Ave, Mentor on October th. Registration begins at 6:15 and the program begins at 7:00 on Friday night with the district skits but the main portion of the program is Saturday. The cost is $16 per adult for Friday and Saturday or just Saturday alone. Beth Saling will lead us in a bible study and later a couple from the past will be leading us. Please bring a full sized bottle of hygiene products for the West Side Community House, which will be well represented during our weekend time together. Sat. begins at 9:15 Saturday with a continental breakfast with program at 10:00. *********Leadership Training for new officers will be provided On March 18 th at Strongsville UMC and at Newscommerstown Christ UMC on March 25 th. At no cost. 6 Welcome Bishop Tracy Malone You are invited to meet our new Bishop Malone at Newcomerstown Christ UMC, 648 Oak Street, Newcomerstown, Ohio, on Sunday, September 18, 3:00 5:00 p.m. Worship, program and refreshments. Mission u We had nine women at the one day and five at the three day event. Some have expressed concern about the cost. We all know some budgets just don t allow for it but for those wondering why it is so much, we pay the college, all the speakers and the food. Each year we are thousands of dollars in the hole so they keep the cost as low as possible. If you haven t gone it is so worth your time and effort.
