14 Troubleshooting Repairs or disassembly may not be performed by anyone other than an authorized serviceperson. If there is still a problem after trying the solutions given in this troubleshooting guide, stop using the chair immediately so as to prevent accident or injury and unplug the chair from the wall. Contact the store where you purchased the chair for assistance. Noise during chair operation During Tapping and Kneading & Tapping Sound of air pump Sound of rollers rubbing against the seat cover Vibrating mechanism noise Sound of reclining seat back mechanism Sound of air massage cushions These noises are a normal part of the chair's operation, and do not affect its performance in any way. Massage action stops in the middle. Turn the main POWER switch on the back of the chair to OFF, wait 5 seconds and then turn it ON again. 1) If chair returns to normal, no further action is needed. 2) If this doesn't fix the problem, stop using the chair immediately to prevent any accident or injury. Unplug the chair from the wall outlet and contact the customer service center for assistance. The rollers stop during the massage. Sometimes when the massage speed is slow and there is too much pressure on the rollers, they can stop moving temporarily. This is not breakage. Just slightly lift your body up from chair. Remote control buttons do not seem to be activating normally. The rollers moved up to the top and then stopped. [Troubleshooting] Check for the following possible problems: 1) Is the power cord fully plugged into the wall outlet? 2) Is the power cord fully plugged into the connector at the back of the chair? 3) Is the main POWER switch in back of the chair turned ON? 4) Is the panel on the remote control closed all the way? Remote control display shows the message, "Restart the main POWER switch." Turn the main POWER switch on the back of the chair to OFF, wait 5 seconds and then turn it ON again. 1) If chair returns to normal, no further action is needed. The auto timer will cause the rollers to move up to the top of the chair when massage time is finished, so as not to interfere with your movements getting out of the chair. The right and left rollers are out of line. The rollers are designed to provide for the alternating tapping function, so in stopping position they are sometimes out of line - this is part of their design and there is nothing wrong with the chair. Approx. 1.5cm Approx. 1.5cm [Troubleshooting] 2) Check to be sure that the foot rest connector is fully connected. 3) If the same message is displayed again, stop using the chair and unplug it from the wall. Contact the store where you purchased the chair for assistance. The footrest adjusting function is not working properly. (The footrest is not touching the bottoms of my feet.) Sit further back in the chair so your head rests firmly on the seat back. Healthcare Programs allow you to make adjustments to the shoulder position with the Shoulder Position Adjustment button after the Shiatsu Point Locator function has completed. (Though Shiatsu Point is located for Area Specific Massage (neck, shoulders, and lower back), and Roller in Manual Selection Mode like Healthcare Program, shoulder position cannot be adjusted right after that.) The footrest adjusting function is not working properly. (The footrest is not touching the bottoms of my feet.) If I try to raise or lower the footrest or use the Foot Slide function during the leg or foot massage, the chair stops. For safety purposes, the air pressure massage is designed to stop if the foot rest or foot slide is activated during the massage. Recline function does not work. Check to be sure no object is stuck between the reclining seat back and the control box on the back of the chair. The recliner safety mechanism may have been activated. Sit with your ankles touching the back of the foot unit so that the sensors (located near the ankle) can function properly. If your ankles don't touch the back of the Foot unit, use the footrest buttons to adjust the angle. See page 13 for details

15 FAQ Care & Storage Q A The panel on the remote control came off. Can it be reattached? The panel on the remote control is designed to release if the panel is being over-used. It's not broken; just press it back in place. Storage After wiping off any dust or dirt, store your chair in a place that is relatively dry. If you are not going to use the chair for some time, put a cover on it that will protect it from dust and dirt. Pets can sometimes chew on power cords, so try to keep pets away from the chair even when it's being stored. Q How do I make the massage deeper? Do not install chair where it can come into contact with direct heat, such as direct sunlight or radiator. A Q A Q Lower the reclining seat back and sit further back in the chair so that more of your weight is resting on the seat back. If that's still not deep enough, remove the buffer pad from inside the back pad. How do I make the massage lighter? Replace buffer pad at the back of back pad with another thicker one. If this does not solve, raise seat back up. I spilled water on the chair. What should I do? Care and Maintenance When cleaning or caring for your chair, make sure to unplug the chair from the wall first. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands. [Caring for Back Pad, Head Rest & Covers] Use a damp cloth that has been soaked in warm water and a mild detergent and then thoroughly wrung out to clean any spots or grime. Fabric color can change if chair is in contact with vinyl covers or some wall coverings for a prolonged period. Do not iron. [FAQ] A Q A Immediately turn the main POWER switch to OFF, and then unplug the chair from the wall. Contact the store where you purchased the chair for assistance. Can you use the chair even if you are overweight? We recommend the chair be used by people weighing up to 100 kg. If you weigh more than that, try sitting lightly in the chair, not leaning back too hard on the seat back. [Caring for Remote Control & Control Box] Use a dry cloth to wipe off the remote control and control box. Never use a damp or wet cloth. May result in failure. [Caring for Other Plastic Parts] First, soak soft cloth in lukewarm water where a little amount of neutral detergent is soluted. Then, squeeze it hard to wipe off dirt. Finally, use dry cloth to remove adhering detergent. Do not use alcohol based or other household cleaning products or abrasives because they can scratch or crack the finish or cause color to fade. Removing Head Rest & Back Pad [Care & Storage] Please follow these instructions when removing the head rests or back pad. * To put them back on, follow these instructions in reverse. (1) (1) Undo the velcro that holds the head rest on the back pad and remove the head rest. (2) Undo the snaps that hold the back pad on and remove the back pad. (2) Be sure to keep the back pad in place during massage. Do not use the chair without the back pad. May result in personal injury
