4 DR. Funghi Introduction There are about 100,000 species of fungi in the world which are used in all areas of life, from nutrition, to bioremediation and even as far as to be used in oil drilling. We at Dr. Funghi focus our primary area of interest and work with mushrooms and their use in the prevention and of support towards the treatment of wellness. The tradition of using mushrooms for medicinal purposes in our premises originated from the Far Eastern traditions. In the West, our own traditional use of mushrooms was for mere consumption however using traditional knowledge and modern scientific testing we can now realize the full health potential of certain mushrooms.

5 DR. Funghi Introduction We are a company called Ljekotive Gljive d.o.o. (Medicinal Mushrooms d.o.o.) from Velika Gorica, Croatia, which has been successfully engaged in the production of dietary supplements derived from medicinal mushrooms. Currently we are producing three types of mushrooms: Shiitake, Reishi and Cordyceps; that collectively aid in prevention and the fight against cancer. Our products further enhance immunity (vitamin D) as well as favorably affect the heart and the cardiovascular system. We are in possession of thirty other cultures of medically recognized mushrooms that we obtained during our successful collaboration in education with the largest manufacturer of dietary supplements of medicinal mushrooms, in the United States. Aloha Medicinals Inc. Nevada, a US based manufacturer that is internationally renowned for cultivation of medically beneficial mushrooms. Our products use raw materials suitable for vegans and vegetarians. 11 Organic Overview Dr Funghi has been granted BIO organic certification in all its products the Reasoning behind this is due to the fact that mushrooms are very porous, they easily absorb pesticides and fungicides. However, it is not just the use of pesticides sprayed on the surface of the mushroom that is of concern in regards to toxins and pesticides. The most important part is what is in the substrate on which the mushrooms grow which we have Organic certification in. Mushrooms are accumulators of many heavy metals. The mycelium, the root of the mushroom, absorbs the toxins in the substrate and channels them into the fruiting body of the mushroom. Such toxins might include but are not limited to: oil, gasoline, diesel, petrochemicals, chemical dyes, pesticides, preservatives, industrial metals, chemical weapons and nitrates. If the mycelium has been exposed these or other toxins, the mushrooms will have large concentrations of heavy metals, such as cadmium, mercury, arsenic, cesium, lead, and copper.

Reishi is Japanese for divine or spiritual mushroom, the word is derived from rishi which means a wise sage. In China its known as Ling Chi, Ling Chih, Ling Zhi or tree of life mushroom. The most common name for this mushroom is the mushroom of immortality because of its ability to bring health. Reishi was associated with royalty, health, recuperation, longevity, sexual prowess, wisdom and happiness.
