We enjoyed seeing many old and new faces at our event; thanks to Bill Turner and Experis for presenting on Developing a Strategic Internal Audit Plan. At our September meeting we asked for those interested in volunteering to aid the chapter and received a great response. Thank you to all who have donated their time to help the NOVA IIA continue to be one of the best chapters! We held the joint NOVA/DC Chapter Beginner Auditor Boot camp with 34 participants and it went great, thank you to those that attended. We also held the Social Event at Nationals Park and had a great time as well. Please join us for next month's meeting of the chapter year on October 1st at Maggiano s. Jeff Page from the Office of the Chief Financial Officer will be speaking on Leadership and Soft Skills in the Internal Audit Profession. We encourage everyone to attend to help boost their soft-skills. I appreciate the opportunity to serve as your president for the Chapter year and look forward to seeing you at our events throughout the year. Sincerely, Jeff Binford NOVA IIA Chapter President
