3 ABOUT CGS Since 1961, the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) has been the only U.S. organization dedicated solely to the advancement of graduate education and research. Based in Washington, DC, CGS serves as a think-tank for graduate schools, policymakers, and employers on issues concerning graduate education and research. CGS accomplishes its mission through advocacy in the policy arena, innovative research, and the development and dissemination of best practices. Its members confer more than 91% of all U.S. doctorates and over 81% of all U.S. master s degrees. 7 Breakfast Presentations for All Attendees Thursday, December 3--Reserved Friday, December 4--Reserved Saturday, December 5 In sponsoring a breakfast open to all meeting attendees, a spokesperson from your organization will give a 30-minute presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session with CGS deans. This is an opportunity to offer expertise on a trend in graduate education, present a new product or service, and gain valuable insights and feedback from decision-makers in the graduate school. $20,000 (Collaborator or Visionary members only) Opening Reception for All Attendees Wednesday, December 2 Join the CGS leadership in kicking off the Annual Meeting by sponsoring the opening reception for all attendees. Any new CGS member at the Collaborator level is eligible, on a first-come basis, to sponsor this well-attended and high-profile event. A leader from your organization will make brief remarks and be recognized by the CGS President. $30,000 (Collaborator or Visionary members only) LaPidus Luncheon Friday, December 4 Be a part of CGS tradition by sponsoring the annual LaPidus luncheon, an event honoring Jules LaPidus, the longest-serving President of CGS. Designed to recognize creative and visionary thinking about graduate education, this event, open to all attendees, features a high-profile speaker each year. Your company representative will deliver a brief welcome to attendees and will be seated on a riser at the VIP lunch table with the speaker and CGS Board leaders. $30,000 (Collaborator or Visionary members only) Evening Receptions for All Attendees Thursday, December 3 Friday, December 4--Reserved After a busy day of panel sessions, two evening receptions offer Annual Meeting attendees an opportunity to relax, network, and discuss ideas shared in meeting sessions. By sponsoring one of these well-attended events, your company will be acknowledged by the CGS President and a representative of your organization will be invited to deliver brief welcoming remarks. $35,000 minimum; actual cost depends on reception details. (Collaborator or Visionary members only) Award Package Thursday, December 3 Recognize exceptional achievements in graduate education by sponsoring an award in collaboration with CGS. Your company s award will be shaped around a theme that is relevant to your mission and meaningful to the CGS membership. A leader from your company will present the award to the winner, share a lunch table with Board members, and be recognized by the CGS leadership. (Visionary members only) Sponsor a Unique, One-Time Event CGS members at the Visionary level have the opportunity to propose a unique, one-time event to be held in conjunction with the CGS Annual Meeting.
