We increase our effectiveness through strategic partnerships that match strengths and resources, and avoid duplication and waste. We partner with schools for educational issues, government agencies and local charities for welfare needs, other non-profits, the larger community and the clients themselves to extend our joint capabilities in new, synergistic ways. 4 LifeLine: Emergency Aid for the Elderly Nearly one-third of Israel s elderly live in severe financial distress. When emergency expenses strike, the usual struggle becomes unbearable. LifeLine leverages the manpower and infrastructure of 5 municipal welfare agencies to identify priority cases and subsidize critical essentials like medicine, hearing aids, dental work, eyeglasses and home repairs. Advocacy Fraud, theft, bankruptcy, unemployment, billing errors and the like thrust innocent families into financial and legal quicksand, without the means to pull themselves out. The Solutions Project (Pitronot) offers professional debt-restructuring, debt-rehabilitation, mediation and advocacy services to solve particularly complex predicaments, and restore normalcy, self-sufficiency and dignity. Loans In the face of calamity, major expenses, or cash-flow problems, free-loans help individuals and families buy time until they can manage the situation on their own. The volunteer-run fund maintains a 99.5% collection rate, while helping hundreds bridge difficult stretches with dignity.

5 At-Risk Youth Engagement 150,000 youth in Israel are considered at-risk. Presently, Israel lacks a proven model to work with severely atrisk youth. Our Own Way is a youth-centric, flexiblystructured model that guides delinquent teens to redirect their frustrations and sense of injustice into their own constructive social-action response. Family Empowerment When strife, depression and dysfunction destroy normalcy, targeted intervention returns stability to the home. JOIN s coping and self-development courses, marriage and family education and counseling, psychological counseling and support groups, and career-training diffuse explosive situations and inspire respect and cooperation. Day Camp No money for camp translates into another summer of unrelenting pressures at home, boredom and bullying on the streets. JOIN day camps and camp subsidies relieve the stress on 650 impoverished kids and their families, guaranteeing fun activities and healthy bonding with counselors and peers.

6 Educational Enrichment Underfunded schools with substandard facilities and projects handicap the ability of children to learn and compete. Rather than create an after-school, parallel program, JOIN bolsters the educational capabilities of 25 schools with enrollment of 6000 students with enhanced science and computer programs, English, reading, and music enrichment. Israel Literacy Initiative Poor reading, writing and comprehension skills quickly lead to disinterest and delinquency, particularly among immigrant youth. JOIN s Israel Literacy Initiative builds skills and motivation by installing active libraries and reading programs in 18 schools with high immigrant enrollment. Middle School to University JOIN inspires hundreds of middle school students from low socio-economic backgrounds to work harder and aim higher academically through university learning. In special university courses, students are exposed to cutting-edge discoveries and experiments in biotech, nanotech, robotics and law, whetting their desire to pursue higher education.
