1 1 Volume 18, Issue 12 December 2018 AA District 09 Solano South CENTRAL OFFICE NEWSLETTER Central Office: 159 East D St.,, CA 9510 (707) New Service Opportunities! Central office coverage : All Positions are filled! But... We are always in need of Relief Volunteers. A Relief Volunteer will step in and cover a shift if the regular volunteer can't make it. It is on a as needed basis. Need to have a year or more of continuous sobriety. For all its usual destructiveness, we have found that fear can be the starting point for better things. Fear can be a stepping-stone to prudence and to a decent respect for others. It can point the path to justice, as well as to hate. And the more we have of respect and justice, the more we shall begin to find the love which can suffer much, and yet be freely given. So fear need not always be destructive, because the lessons of its consequences can lead us to positive values.. We welcome and thank these newly elected General Service District 09 Panel 69 members! No one has stepped forward for the DCMC ( District Committee Member Chair) position. If you have served your District in any position in the past, either Solano County s District 09 or any other District in AA, please consider coming forward and make yourself available to serve in this position. I was so sure I could never do this service, or even do it well, and yet looking back I learned so much and feel proud to have given back to AA in gratitude for my sobriety. Please don t hesitate to give me a call with any questions at and join us on December 10th for our potluck. Looking back on our last two years, we thank and celebrate all those AAs in Southern Solano County who volunteered and helped us host our 2018 CNCA 06 Area Assembly at the Fairgrounds, (the last one was in 2009) and our two Delegate s Report/ Service Days, 2017 and 2018 respectfully. We in District 09 are so proud of all the groups in our District, our wonderful Central Office and each and every one of the AA members in Southern Solano County. And lastly, as I rotate out, I want to thank you all for allowing me to serve you as your CNCA District 09 Chairperson. It has been a wonderful and rewarding ride. I will find another service position, one that will maybe scare me, maybe intimidate me but I know will help me stay sober and continue giving back to this amazing program. Thank you all! See you around the rooms Claudia K. District 09 DCMC, Panel 67 2

10 2019 H & I Conference /Guest Ambassadors 5/3/2019-5/5/2019 Guest s Ambassador Hosting an out of town conference guest(s) in your home What to consider before signing up Would you be interested in being a Guest Ambassador Do you have a guest room that could be available for an out of town guest and or their partner? How many persons/people can you accommodate? 1 single guest or 1 couple? Would the guest(s) have their own guest bathroom or share a bathroom with you or your family member(s)? Do you have pets, if so please list (in case a guest has allergies) Do you smoke? Yes/No Do you want to host non smokers only? Is smoking prohibited on or near your property, do you have a designated area for guests that do smoke? Do you keep late hours? Would you need your guests to have a curfew, I know this sounds silly but some people go to bed early and like to have their homes locked up for the evening by a certain time/? Would you provide: linens, towels? Moring coffee/tea? Any other considerations, concerns, or restrictions that you would like to address before sharing your home with an out of town guest. If you would like to sign up for hosting an out of town guest, please Margaret B at handihosts@gmail.com
