3 message from founder With the blessing of The Almighty Allah we have been able to do something for the ailing humanity. The issues and problems which are faced by the humanity are graver than our thoughts, and we have to put in our concerted efforts to eradicate them. It is also true that they cannot be eradicated instantly and it will take time and even generations to provide solutions for all the problems. But we should not stop looking at it and should continue to put our efforts. Alhamdulillah our Thalassemia Care Center is working and providing care to the Thalassemia patients and we are planning for expanding the services by establishing a purpose built building for Blood Bank and Thalassemia Care Center to provide for the existing and growing needs of blood for the patients of blood disorders and for any emergency blood requirement. I am sure that with the guidance of our honorable Advisory Board, Executive Directors and your support we ll be able to serve the ailing humanity in a better way and many thanks to our individual and corporate donors who have been supporting us and to the management team and volunteers of HIWT for their services. 9 about the HIWT HIWT is a non-governmental, non-profit organization working without discrimination for the welfare of people of Pakistan. HIWT started in 1994 with a Computer and English Language Centre that charged a very nominal fee from its students. Today, HIWT is a well known organization contributing a wide array of dynamic services for the overall wellbeing of society. history We have been doing various activities for the benefit of the society. Like: Distributing food, clothes and blankets on Eid to the deserving people. Providing marriage assistance to families for their daughters weddings Facilitating the non affording patients for their operations and medical treatment - surgeries Organizing free eye camps & eye operations have successfully been managed Over the period we have found that Thalassemia is painful not only for the patient but also for the family and the society. It needs more attention. So for the last two years we have focused on caring for the Thalassemia patients.

12 Our Initiatives A project for the deserving patients. This project serves as one window solution to all deserving Thalassemia patients without any charges. Provides Thalassemia affected children and their parents with psychological help by professional clinical psychologists to face the disease with a positive state of mind and lead a normal life. Presently 28 Children of different ages are being provided Free treatment and care (blood and medicines) with an approximate cost of Rs. 20,000/- per month per patient. A platform for students and other volunteers to serve the cause By 2015 Help Volunteer program will have 5,000 volunteers from all over Pakistan A way to empower students and their families A hope of bright future through better education Program offers education sponsorships to students of all ages and backgrounds An opportunity for sponsorship for higher education A platform for the sponsors and supporters of HIWT
