Thank you all. From all reports it was a great night with a number of At our last Committee Meeting Elizabeth Roy accepted nomination as President for our year, and Fiona Dunlop accepted nomination as our First Vice President with Daphne Lindsay accepting nomination as Second Vice President. These positions will be ratified at our February Meeting. There was much joyful noise following the signing of the nomination forms! Well done to Elizabeth, Fiona and Daphne. We will be there for you every step of the way. I have to say it was one of the happiest Committee Meeting I have attended in a long time. As a club how very lucky we are to have these three special women prepared to lead our club for the next three years. Carole King accepted nomination as Secretary and I believe that Monica is happy to continue on as Treasurer. Thank you both, amazing skills and very special ladies both. We now need to seek nominations for club members prepared to go onto our committee next year. Please think hard about this. Ring me or anyone of our committee if you think this is something you could do. Our committee meetings are always fun and it gives newer members the chance to learn a little more about Inner Wheel whilst working as a team. Congratulations also to Past President Dot Anderson-Lee for accepting nomination at National Level as Vice President and President Well done Dot we are all very proud of you.

2 I encourage as many of you as possible to join with the Rotary Club of Invercargill on Thursday 13 December to celebrate the Christmas Season together as joint clubs with our partners. Fiona has the details further on in this bulletin. Saturday January 12 is our Picnic Day at Waikaia, hosted by Dorothy and Bryon King at their holiday home. This is to celebrate Inner Wheel New Zealand Day. Those of us that went last year had a wonderful day in the sun, and this year we have arranged to have it on the closest Saturday, to enable more club members and their families to come. As this is our last newsletter for 2018, I would like to wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas time together with family and friends, and wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday time wherever you may be. As I write this, plans are in hand to pass the proceeds of the Proms Concert to Hospice Southland on Friday 30 November at 5pm. $18,000 was raised for this very worthy cause. Tanzanite is a gemstone that has high vibration and strong metaphysical properties. It is a powerful stone to help develop inner strength as well as psychic power. Blue Zircon Due to its high refractive index and strong dispersion, Zircon has great brilliance and intensive fire. Natural zircon is brown to orange or red. The blue is not a natural occurrence as the coveted blue zircon is achieved by heat treatment. Only some zircon has the right physical structure to turn blue when heated. Most blue zircon comes from Cambodia. Wearing zircon is said to help fight negativity, both physically and mentally. This is a powerful stone that can help as healer and balancer of life. 6 Inner Wheel International Day Saturday 12 January 2019 This is to be held on Saturday 12 January 2019 and hosted by Dorothy and Bryon King, 49 Willington Street, Waikaia from 11am This is a family ocassion. Please bring with you the following: Deck chairs, sunscreen, hats Picnic Food or something to BBQ and BYO Something to share for afternoon tea There will be games, walks and lots of talk under the shady trees Numbers not necessary, just plenty of room and nice to see as many as possible. Travel instructions are as follows: Waikaia is approximately one and a half hours from Invercargill Drive to Gore Head out of Gore to Riversdale via Mandeville Drive through Riversdale Turn right on the outskirts of Riversdale to Waikaia (see sign to Waikaia and Piano Flat) Drive across the Waikaia Bridge Travel straight ahead Pass the church on the corner, 3 houses past the church Kings Holiday home where there will be balloons in the tree.
