Within the School, along with its general plenary part, a specialized Workshop shall be organized on the topic: Criminal Legislation and Addictology. 2 Addictology and the abuse of psychoactive substances present one of the biggest problems on the global level, concerning the prevention, treatment itself and successful rehabilitation. Apart of being one of the most expensive, psychoactive substances addiction is, primarily, a complex brain illness with significant behavioral characteristics. Differences in sexes, related to the biological aspect and gender differences based on already defined cultural male/female roles, additionally implicate complex problems connected with psychoactive substances. Contemporary researches treating addictology are directed on the development of gender-based, specific programs of treatment, having in mind unique needs of women abusing PAS or already addicted to them. The other aspect of this problem is a forensic one. The prominence of criminogenic behavior related to drugs imposes important questions, concerning the role of legislation and the meaning of the punishment, or the level of the penalization of a certain behavior.
