2 C. Harrington welcomed all present and introduced David Heard, from Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR). Minute of Meeting 27 th October 2017 moved T. Cocca Seconded J. Nielsen That the minute be taken as read Carried Business Arising Council Meetings still on the table and perhaps we should contact those Councils listed to arrange for special meeting with Council staff, put on a BBQ lunch and sell the benefits of joining the association Other business arising will be dealt with under General Business Financial Report The treasure was an apology for this meeting but to say that the Metro Branch has $15,949 in the bank Also that the treasure should again look into outstanding membership invoices Correspondence - From the Southern and Hills Branch re: The Bend Meeting on the 18 th May Inviting Metro members to attend. It was decided that the secretary send the flyer out to Metro members The $20 / head fee for attending the Bend meeting be paid for by the Metro branch moved M. Chadwick Seconded C. Harrington - Carried - from M. Swanbury regarding a list of meeting dates for The IPWEA, Southern and Hills Branch and CCB branch moved M. Chadwick Seconded M. Inwood - That the Correspondence be received and accepted - Carried

3 Trade Presentations Richard Powell from Plumbing and Pipeline Solutions. - Trucks are now being built in SA by Blade Engineering at Dry Creek - Both the Straight Vacuum Trucks and the Combo units Agenda Items Study Tour - The secretary sent out a flyer for expression of Interest for the Study Tour. - The following responses were received o 17 Responded 7 From Industry saying that it depended on Council member participation 4 from Council members saying that they would like to attend (Only 1 from other branches) 5 retirees wanting to attend 1 saying would not like to attend - Due to lack of Numbers it was decided that the Study Tour would not be held this year General Business B. Kasza talked about the TAFE SA issue that one is hearing in the press lately. TAFE SA has taken a pro -active approach and decided to get all their process s in place to meet the ASQA audit process. Also discussed the WHS legislation as to the Duty of Care requirement for Operating Load shifting equipment David Heard from DEWNR Talked about the Morialta Playground - Project started 4 years with the discussion, consultancy phase, question were asked o Why do people not use Parks? o Is it because of lack of facilities? o Is it because of the hazards e.g. snakes etc. - A Minecraft competition was held and schools were engaged to build the ultimate playground including the normal playground equipment swings etc. - Peter Semple Landscape architect was engaged and part of the process involved consultation with the winning primary school - Plans were supplied given the demographics and land use to get a better perspective of the terrain - It has taken over 1 year to get to this stage - Utilised local schools for feedback - Engages people with Nature

No claims as yet - Different levels of grading - Highest activity 2 metres - Signs in place - Number of learning experiences through the process - Parking and speed limits became an issue - First week 10k - Play structures are made predominately of wood, some steel - Xylophone was removed due to noise pollution - School groups can create issues such as bus parking especially when you get 2 or 3 school groups a day Clive thanked David for his informative presentation. The meeting was adjourned for a tour of the Playground

5 After the Tour members were invited to the Aquatic Recreation Centre, where Justin Mathews gave an excellent tour and narrative of the centre Next Meetings : 18th May at Tailem Bend for the Motorsport Park Meeting adjourned to Paradise Hotel for networking and refreshments.
