1 February 2019 Stuttgart Spouses Community Club SCSC Volume 19 Issue 12
2 A Message From the President What a crazy busy month this has been! SIGs are moving along, our monthly event will be taking reservations soon, scholarship applications are coming in, and another Trips and Tours event is right around the corner with an exciting trip to Worms. There is so much going on right now it is hard to pin point one thing. We are gearing up for a great monthly event that will be held on March 1 st at the Patch Community Center. This is our annual Basket Auction and trivia night, it will be so much fun! Our primary goal is, of course, to support our philanthropic mission. Profits raised from basket auction will go to deserving individuals and groups throughout the Stuttgart area. Our final goal is to encourage a sense of community by providing a lively evening to get everyone involved. Our Thrift Shop is always looking for volunteers. With PCS season starting soon the volume of donations is increasing and we need your help. This is a great way to get involved and meet new friends and families. I want to remind everyone that board positions will need to be filled for next year. The SCSC board year runs from June 1 st through May 31 st. Ballot and election information will be passed along soon, so keep an eye out if you are interested in a position for the upcoming board year. Have a great February and I look forward to seeing you at our next events! Dee

18 Special Interests Groups SIG s Coordinated by Christine H. scsc.bookclub14@gmail.com Book Club - The gatherings are casual and although there is a list of discussion questions, we usually just discuss the book and have enough to say without needing them. We range from some members bringing great insight to others just trying to remember what they've read long enough to join in! We choose our titles two months in advance so that there is time to order the book or rent it from the library. We discuss the book we've just completed and choose another that will be discussed two months later, having already chosen the "on deck" book.
