1 WILDFLOWERS OF TEXOMA Issue 4 April 2014 We are finally seeing signs of spring, and aren't they beautiful? I'm loving the warm sun, budding trees, early bloomers, chirping birds. It's also the time of year for art festivals, flea markets, garage and yard sale. Hope you are able to "visit" some and get inspired or find someone else's junk and claim it as your treasure to paint. We had so much fun painting our "gum ball machines" with Lisa. She always has lots of ideas for multiple uses for our projects. There are so many uses for the bowls. Hope you have finished yours. Thank you Lisa for sharing. Our seminar with Janice Miller will soon be here. The paint has arrived from DecoArt, and all the colors Janice requested are there! We were fortunate to get everything, since some are on the discontinued list. The classes are filling up nicely. There are still just a few spots available; if you know someone who would like to attend, please contact Carol. Lunch will be $5 each day. It would be helpful for planning headcount if you could let Suzanne or Dee know if you are having the group lunch. As an alternate to a major raffle this year, we voted to have boxed dessert exchange and Bunco party fundraiser in June. The boxes will be available at the April meeting. We will discuss in detail at the meeting. I know I sound like a broken record, but I truly appreciate each of you for all that you do for our chapter. Your cooperation, contributions, and creativity are the best! Thank you. Keep those brushes moving. 2 Everything is coming up D A I S I E S. We will be making a necklace with Gourd pieces and colored pencils. You will need to bring your colored pencils, odorless paint thinner if you have it (I will have some, not much is needed), a small round brush and q-tips. I will bring the gourd pieces and bails. If you have copic markers or sharpies bring them also, along with micron markers for lining our work. 4 I want to thank each and every one of you that have volunteered to teach at the monthly meetings. Thank you so much for a great class Lisa Thornhill. I have finished my pot and need to get some plants as I made it a terrarium. We are all looking forward to the teaching in April by Patsy Deal. If you don't come to the meeting in April, you will surely miss a great one just like in March if you weren't there. Lisa did a great job. Nancy Genetti won the raffle and will be responsible to get the next raffle gift to the club. Please come if you can. See you there. 5 We have had some busy chapter members Renee Wade, Nancy Nass, Jana Reynolds, Nancy Genetti, Robin Wilson and Patsy Deal attended a Bluebonnet Chapter seminar that hosted Rosemary West. Marge Abernethy, Janice Marshall and Renee Wade attended a Yellow Rose Chapter seminar hosting Shara Reiner. Now we need a Show and Tell at the next meeting.

6 Wildflowers General Meeting Tuesday, March 11, 2015 Nancy Nass called the meeting to order at 6:48 with 16 members present. Carol Reichelt reported sign-ups for the upcoming seminar of 15 for the turkey class on Friday and 11 for the shirt class on Saturday. We need a total of 36 for a break even and are anticipating some more sign-ups. Suzanne announced lunch to be Soup and Salad on Friday and Baked Potato and Salad on Saturday for the cost of $5.00 each day. Renee reported that she lacked one month for teaching and Sharon Mayo volunteered to teach a painted egg. Community Service project opportunity bags were passed out for each member to paint for the Children s Advocacy Center. Designs were requested for the older children-especially boys Suggestions include baseball, sports, and cards. These children must pick things at the center for their new or temporary life and this is the bag they put it in. Dee reported that our membership is 23 members. Marge sent out 4 sunshine cards. Let her know any needs. Upcoming Fundraisers: Bunko Party in June. Pay $10 for a painted box with cookies in it. You will also have painted a box. We will have a night of games and prizes. Lisa is in charge of the party and is so excited. Be sure to attend. Suzanne won the bucket with the egg tree and Nancy Genetti won the green bag with the St. Patrick goodies. With no further Old or New Business, Renee made a motion to adjourn and Dee seconded the motion. Motion carried and we started painting a gum ball machine with Lisa.
