Issue 01 - July 17 T H R I V E NEWSLETTER IN THIS ISSUE 60 ACTS OF KINDNESS AHBA WINTER LUNCHROOM FORTNIGHTLY SURF MEET ALTERNATIVE TO MUFTI DRINKS CA ANZ GALA DAY TEAMS ALLAN HALL DAY: 'CLIENTS IN FOCUS' LIFESTYLE WORKING HEALTH PROVIDER REGISTER & DISCOUNTS WHAT'S NEXT Welcome to our first Thrive Newsletter This new monthly newsletter brings you all the latest Wellbeing initiatives, tips and news from the Thrive committee. Our Thrive Committee meets monthly and consists of Cale, Claudia, Danielle, Julia, Janelle, Michael and Michaela. Wellbeing at work means thriving psychologically, physically, socially and as a business. Investing in Business Wellbeing, The Langley Group, 2016 The aim of our Thrive wellbeing program is to increase the wellbeing of mind, body and spirit of all employees, whilst simultaneously increasing employee engagement, productivity and performance. 0 1

60 Acts of Kindness Our 60-year anniversary celebrations are starting next week and we need your help! We are committing to giving back with a minimum of 60 acts of charity and community involvement over the next financial year and we are encouraging all staff to get involved. PLEASE let us know the charities, organisations or community initiatives that have meaning to you and let us know your ideas of how we can achieve our goal of 60 Acts of Kindness! Remember we are launching our 60th Anniversary celebrations next Monday with an "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" in support of the Cancer Council, so please help the morning to be a success by bringing a plate of food and/or gold coin donation. AHBA Winter Lunchroom As it is getting a little chilly up at the BBQ area in winter, we are trialing the hosting of some wellbeing related TED talks, dvds and shows on Wednesdays lunchtimes. Kick off is next Wednesday in the North Steyne room with the screening of an adventure short film at 1pm. So bring your lunch and come along and enjoy the show with your workmates! Cale Fortnightly Surf Meet at Manly The Allan Hall Fortnightly Surf Meet has had a small but loyal following for its first two meets. For those not yet brave enough to hit the water in winter, remember you can always come along and gather those negative ions that are so good for the soul, with just a simple walk or sit by the beach with friends. Next two meets are Friday, 4th and 18th August from 12pm - 2pm. 0 2

SAVE THE DATE!! Allan Hall Day: "Clients in Focus" Friday, 1st September 2017 Following the success of our "Living our Brand" day in 2016, and ongoing positive feedback from staff who felt they got a lot out of the day, the firm has made the decision to continue the legacy with an annual "Allan Hall Day". Each year there will be a different focus and this year it is all about our clients. Details are as follows: Date: Friday 1st September Venue: South Curl Curl Surf Club Time: 1pm: Staff will leave the office. Lunch will be provided on arrival. 2pm pm: presentation and activities 5.30pm onwards: Drinks and nibbles The full agenda for the day is yet to be finalised but it will be along the lines of: 1. Our past - brief recap of the firm's history 2. Our future - brief look at the future of AHBA and the profession generally 3. Our brand - our vision, core values and drivers 4. A look at our 2016/17 results 5. Our journey since our 'Living our Brand' day 6. Clients in Focus - How can we continue to improve our service and build our relationships? 7. Thrive! Acts of Kindness group activity 9. DRINKS! 0 4

Lifestyle Working Health Provider Register & Discounts for AHBA staff The committee has been communicating with Lifestyle Working health providers with a view to providing an accessible register to staff of all health providers in the building and any discounts they are prepared to offer our staff. We are looking to do the same with our clients. If you know of any clients or businesses that may be interested in participating in our health provider register, please make contact to these businesses or pass on their details to the thrive committee. So far we have received the following responses: A Body of Work Graeme Powell suggested I see if 'A Body of Work' could help with recurring problems with my hamstring, achilles and calf that were affecting my touch footy. I have been blown away by their technology and the one-onone consultation, assessment and retraining they have given me to avoid injury and to build my strength and capability... Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? A Great FREE offer from a Body of Work Gordon Parish - Allan Hall HR 0 5

Joe's Basecamp Joe s Basecamp, a client of Allan Hall, is a group training and fitness centre located just around the corner from the lifestyle building. We are trying to gauge the interest of Allan Hall employees in attending a weekly lunchtime group training session run by the founder, Joe. The corporate program offers a weekly Strength and Conditioning Class, where he teaches you skills, correct form and how to strength train properly for health, general fitness, weight loss and performance. Please let us know your interest by replying to the thrive address. For more information, visit: Health Space Enliven Coaching Can you please let us know if you are interested in participating in a Free 45 min Exclusive Private Group Training that is being offered to our staff from Jazza from Enliven Coaching downstairs. His specialities are team work training, corporate groups and strategising fitness games as a team bonding exercise. They are lots of fun, a great way to keep fit and interact with other work colleagues. He caters to all fitness levels from beginners to advanced athletes. They also offer free individual introductory week passes - see below. What's next.. Graeme Powell, who runs our Safety and Environment division, will be running a first aid training session in August in conjunction with out client, ASCIA on the use of epi-pens, in case of emergency. This is an important training session, especially given some AHBA staff have allergies. If you are interested in submitting some wellbeing ideas, please thrive@allanhall.com.au 0 6
