2 Welcome Dear Colleague, We would like to welcome you warmly to Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, and particularly to the adult mental health and learning disabilities directorate. We are one of three directorates in LPT, where our staff work together to deliver high quality inpatient and community-based care for adults with mental health needs and adults with complex learning disabilities and their families. Our services range from acute inpatient and crisis care to outreach services, psychological therapies, community and recovery services and short-break homes. You join us at an exciting time as we embark on a journey to transform our services now and over the coming years to ensure we provide high quality services that meet the needs of the communities we serve. Perinatal service We re exploring new ways of working and caring to ensure more people get the best from our services through agile working and adopting digital technology, for example. You have the chance to be involved in these exciting new developments, through your role in continuously improving the fundamentals of the care you and your team provide every day, and helping us to redesign the shape of care in the future. You can also talk to your line manager initially if you want to know more about this work. We ll be keeping you up to date this work and for opportunities to get involved look out for dedicated bulletins, updates and information in our quarterly directorate newsletter. 7 Whole Family Approach in AMH.LD Across our Trust we are working hard to embed the principles of our Whole Family Approach into our clinical practice putting the whole family at the centre of our care planning and delivery. A network of Whole Family Approach champions is working across all three directorates with the aim of connecting people so that we consistently safeguard children and vulnerable adults by having the right processes in place to provide joined-up care for every family, every time. When we are working with adults we always need to identify any safeguarding risks to children, and young or vulnerable adults. Similarly our work with children must ensure that, where a child protection plan or child-in-need plan is in place, this is visible to all staff working with the family. Having good, timely conversations with colleagues working with the same family as you can improve the outcomes for the whole family Look out for news and updates on this work in our Whole Family Approach bimonthly bulletins.
