2 The CT BHP is a Partnership that consists of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the Department of Social Services (DSS), the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), Beacon Health Options and a legislatively mandated Oversight Council. Expanded in 2011 to include DMHAS, the contract is designed to create an integrated behavioral health service system for our members; Connecticut s Medicaid populations, including children and families who are enrolled in HUSKY Health and DCF Limited Benefit programs. The primary goals of the Partnership are to provide access to and coordination of a more complete and effective system of behavioral health services and supports, and to improve overall member outcomes. 9 child attachment, infant crying, infant feeding, infant sleeping, establishing routines and postpartum planning/community resources. Parents receive free materials and program is free. UConn Health Center 263 Farmington Avenue Farmington, CT CHR 153 Hazard Avenue Enfield, CT Pregnancy Counseling Catholic Charities 896 Asylum Avenue x228/229 or The Strengthening Families Program CHR is implementing an evidence based model developed by Iowa State University providing opportunities for families from the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT to gather for a 7 week group that includes family dinner, concurrent group sessions for parents and youth age 10 13, babysitting for the younger siblings, and family activities. Parents/ Caregivers learn nurturing skills that support adolescent development. Youth learn skills for dealing with stress, peer pressure, and drug/alcohol refusal skills. In addition, families have the opportunity to participate in booster sessions and recreational/enrichment activities that are planned for and by the youth and their parents throughout the year. Community Health Resources 693 Bloomfield Drive Bloomfield, CT The Truancy Court Prevention Program helps youth with truancy problems engage in school through intensive on site case management, academic assessment and support, legal advocacy, and enrollment in after school activities. The Village s TCPP partners include the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC), the Center for Children s Advocacy (CCA), the Connecticut Judicial Branch, and Hartford Public Schools. TCPP sites include Quirk Middle School and Burr School. The Village for Families and Children 1680 Albany Avenue The Village's Community Schools collaboration between the school and other community resources. The program includes the after school program, mental health services, truancy and teen programs, and financial empowerment education. The Village for Families and Children 1680 Albany Avenue Intensive Community Based Intervention Programs provides a continuum of clinical and therapeutic services to adolescent girls and boys, ages 13 18, with histories of trauma and neglect, and who are presenting complex psychiatric, behavioral and emotional challenges. The goal is to provide a continuum of clinical and therapeutic 9

10 services for adolescents to help them stabilize and enable them to transition to and remain in a family setting in the community. The FFT model is a home based service designed to address both symptoms of serious emotional disturbance in the identified child as well as parenting practices and/or other family challenges that affect the child and family s ability to function. Must be DCF referred. My People Clinical Services 151 New Park Avenue Hartford, CT Intensive In Home Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (IICAPS) an intensive, home based service designed to address specific psychiatric disorders in the identified child, while remediating problematic parenting practices and/or addressing other family challenges that effect the child and family s ability to function. Efforts are also made within the service to improve the child s educational programming and to ameliorate any environmental 13

14 factors that may contribute to the child s psychosocial adversity. IICAPS teams typically spend five hours per week working directly with children and their families and managing their care. While children/adolescents with disruptive behavioral and/or substance abuse symptoms are the focus of intervention, the model relies on ecological, family and systemic interventions to assist in the reduction of symptoms. There are currently four in the state.
