2 Our partnership began in 2014 Mobile and Biloxi are one of the only coalitions in Alabama and Mississippi to cross state lines and we were the first to begin this. We share information regularly and attend each others meetings when possible.

7 Developed by the Steering Committee and approved unanimously by the Coalition Mission Statement To jointly plan for and respond to natural and manmade disasters, terrorist attacks, pandemics, and mass casualty events by promoting cooperation and sharing of resources. This is our overall mission but we would like to have a whole community at all times, no matter the situation.

11 Monthly 3 rd Wednesday of each month May reschedule if host site has a conflict or Chairperson or Vice- Chairperson cannot attend Usually last about an hour an hour and a half Agendas sent approximately 1 week before meeting All members are encouraged to send ideas for meeting topics Topics include: Current situations in hospitals We are beginning to track psych patients held in ER s/workplace violence Surveillance Flu, or current trends in illnesses presenting Trainings Departmental Share different departments bring members to get to know one another and discuss current issues or trends they are seeing at their facilities
12 We encourage everyone to join This includes: Supply companies, FBI, Anyone nonmedical Usually have several Plus 1 meetings Bring a guest that has never attended Recruitment packets Meeting schedules, bylaws, participation response form, logos from trusted partners and members, HCC Facts sheet, Medical Reserve Corps Information Face to face meetings If someone expresses interest in the coalition, we will set up a meeting and discuss in person
13 Located in the Emergency Preparedness Department at the Mobile County Health Department Vital part of our success during any event Can provide education events for anyone Volunteers Some have medical backgrounds can provide basic first aid if needed Anyone can sign up
14 Performing Exercises as a whole coalition benefits everyone involved for response preparedness as we build relationships. These are ones that we have done, plus ones coming up in the future. September 2016 Functional Exercise for South Alabama was conducted and key members from the HCC s participated (168 organizations from 33 different counties) Full Scale Exercise planned for 2019 Local AIMS Exercises MCHERC is considering a local Tabletop exercise as a coalition to help those in need for the new CMS Rules. We are still in the planning stages Grant Cycle ( we do not receive money but are required to participate in exercises) Ebola, HCC Surge Test, Communication Drills these are all being worked on for the next cycle.
