1 A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR - "Partnerships" Before we know it, Thanksgiving will be here! As the new director at the Harry Tompson Center much to be thankful for - dynamic, compassionate staff, dozens of committed volunteers, genero regular contributors, and the stories of hope as more of our guests are housed and connected w each day. I am especially thankful for the many partnerships we have with other non-profits, ena multiply our good work and reach more people in need. A recent analysis of our Sign-In Sheets o period this summer revealed that 2,399 different persons utilized Rebuild Center services during the need is great, but with dedicated staff, volunteers and great partners, we can make a differe of the people we serve. 2 127 The VA CRRC Partnership - On October 7, the HTC began providing laundry and shower services at the newly opened Ve Administration Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC) located in downtown New Orleans in a renovated wing hospital. The City, through its Emergency Solutions Grant Program, is providing funding to HTC to provide services at the photo are Rickey Paul, Chanitra Casmier, who serve as Center Assistants, and Travis Wain, our Site Coordinator who is an Volunteer with the Christian Brothers Volunteer Program. Not pictured are other Center Assistants Trolean Tolliver and Hamilton. Welcome to all of you!

3 The NO AIDS Task Force Partnership - Recently at the invitation of the HTC staff, the NO AIDS Task Force began provid testing in its CARE Van once a month at the Rebuild Center. This has been a successful partnership with over 40 of our gu served thus far. The 100,000 Homes Partnership - It was a long, hot summer for the many who sought services at the HTC. Fortunately our guests will never have to endure the relentless heat of a New Orleans summer unsheltered ever again. They have b permanent housing as part of the "200 Housed in 100 Days" campaign. We are overjoyed for them! Their homelessnes ended! We are in partnership with UNITY of Greater New Orleans and Community Solutions to provide 100,000 homes vulnerable or chronically homeless individuals in our country by the end of (See more at 72,000 people have been housed including 300 people from New Orleans who have been housed since June 1! A new lo initiative is to house 500 persons by the end of the year.

4 The Jesuit Ignatian Spirituality Program Partnership - One of the unique Jesuit-related partnerships we are involved wi Ignaitian Spirituality Project (ISP), a ministry serving men and women who are homeless and in recovery for addiction. T outreach is a 2-day retreat based upon an intersection of the 12-Step Program and the guiding principles of Ignatian Spir of these programs seek to inspired greater knowledge of one's self and relationship with God as an agent of change with life. Since its founding in 2005, the ISP Network has grown nationally with 20 teams offering 130 retreats a year. New O separate teams for men and women which offer twice annual overnight retreats in the area. Each team facilitates a retr least one person who has been through a recovery program and the retreat program to witness to the effect of the retre lives. Many volunteers work behind the scenes to provide transportation, handouts and gifts given to the retreatants, le support during the retreat and after, connection with shelters and financial support for the ministry. 5 Partnership with Loyola - Max Boyce is one of the 8 Loyola University Service Learners who work 2 hours each week at helping with shower and phone services. This results in an impressive 200 hours of volunteer service hours each semest 3 Loyola Social Justice Scholars enjoyed their experience volunteering last year so much that they are continuing to volu Center. Thank you, Loyola! Partnership with Tulane - Tulane's School of Social Work provided HTC with 2 Work-Study students this Fall. We will m and Colleen! In January, we hope to serve as a host site for MSW field placements to help with case management servic Tulane!

6 Welcome Kip Barard, HTC's New Case Manager! We knew that Kip's previous professional experience working with hom individuals would be very helpful when he started his new job as Case Manager at the HTC; however, we were not prepa how successful his efforts would be. Since he started his new position on August 26, he has helped to house over 40 of o up the great work, Kip! A Note from Assistant Director Emily Bussen - As Fall approaches and the weather begins to get a little cooler, our gue appreciate a nice pair of socks or a knit cap. Sometimes it is the simple joys, like new socks, that bring the biggest smiles thank you for allowing us to make this happen.
