3 PROGRAM Join us at our October General Membership Luncheon Meeting and meet the candidates for County Judge. As per our Government Relations committee, questions will be submitted by members to the program Moderator, Christopher Julian prior to the session and will not be accepted from the floor. All questions were to be submitted to the RGVBA office prior to the meeting. Opening comments per candidate will be limited to two minutes. Topics to include their candidacy, platform, qualifications and past service to the community. We are especially interested in hearing their position concerning issues that affect the building industry in general. McAllen, Edinburg and Rio Grande Valley are leaders in this Region so it is important that we participate in this event and hear about their thoughts pertaining to our industry. Some questions may be directed to one specific candidate otherwise each candidate will be allowed to answer following the speaking order. In order to maintain the prescribed time allowed per candidate, time will be monitored and clearly exhibited to each candidate by a member of the Association. NOTE: Be advised that if only one party confirms their attendance and participation, we plan to proceed with the forum NOTE: The RGVBA endorses policies for the betterment and advancement of the building industry and our community. We invite candidates to speak to our members for the purpose of gaining information and perspectives that will allow our members to make better choices on voting day. We do not endorse candidates (although as individuals not representatives of the RGVBA some of our members may work for a candidate of their choice). As in past years we will hold a mandatory luncheon meeting of all builders in the parade to go over all the rules, regulations and guidelines and get feedback from our builders on other issues of concern to them. We will keep you updated on this meeting. Invitation is also open to all of our associate members and/or developers who wish to offer their discounts to all builders with entries or wish to be a Major sponsor of this years event or wish to purchase an ad for the guidebook. A link for the Ad Agreements is also forthcoming. ATTN DEVELOPERS The Supplier Discount Form was ed out to those associate members, suppliers, who wish to offer discounts to the parade builder on their entry. Developers may also do the same on their lots. You may call us to discuss ways that you may promote your subdivision to these builders as we have done in the past. If you wish to be a major sponsor of the 2018 Parade of Homes, please let me know. We anticipate this to be a very special parade as our association will be celebrating our 50 year anniversary. I also forwarded this to you in case some of you had not received the . Here is some information on what steps to take to renew your subscription for TAB Builder Contracts.

Alfredo (Fred) Munguia retired from ASHTI on December 31, 2017 leaving a 30 year legacy of impact in affordable housing in the Rio Grande Vallley Known to all of us as Fred, he has been a member representing ASHTI (previously McAllen Affordable Homes), for 30 years. Because of all his hard work and dedication to our association, Fred was selected as the RGVBA Builder Member of the Year in Fred served as President of our association in 1999, 2000 and again in 2007 and Fred continued to serve our association in different committees, including the Past President s Committee; Government Relations Committee; and our Parade of Homes Committee.
