These perceptions have led to many children and adolescents being incorrectly stamped with life altering labels that can leave to a lifetime of stigma and shame. Therapists need to understand that many of these individuals gained their knowledge of sexual behavior through pornography, abuse, coercion, and trauma. To be successful a holistic approach is needed, that infuses the principles of healthy community interactions, evidence-based interventions, and life skills development. In addition, the idea of data helping to inform treatment can be a scary proposition for many therapists. Once you learn specific ways to utilize data, it will become a vital step in helping to effectively target your interventions to meet the individual and unique needs of your clients. Learn the five advantages of a treatment approach based on a data driven, trauma informed model, including a reduction in overall length of stay for clients with sexual issues. 7 Unite to Protect Behavioral Health: Advocacy Webinar Series Dates: Wednesday, August 16, :00 PM Wednesday, August 30, :00 PM Register: With numerous emerging threats to Medicaid and behavioral health services, the National Council will hold biweekly policy webinars to update our members on the latest news and advocacy opportunities out of Washington. We will monitor and update our members on issues that matter most, including: the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act, proposed reforms to Medicaid and details on government spending for behavioral health care programs. Note: Each webinar will feature a specific Call to Action for National Council members. Please prepare and plan for a year of persistent advocacy and engagement with your legislators. We must ensure that our voices, and those of your clients, are heard in Congress.
