However, there is still a possibility of recording the event and offering to NPA members as a webinar. The possibility of streaming upcoming/higher attendee CEs (ICD) is still available. 4. November 20/21 st, Motivational Interviewing Ali Hall: We formally invited Ali Hall to present this event and sent her a speaker contract. Once she returns the completed contract (and other requested info), Wendi will be able to begin setting up the online registration process. A venue has been booked. I believe Melanie plans to attend and is willing to be the lead person for this event. (Melanie-Please correct me if I am wrong.) 5. February 19 th, Transitioning to the ICD-10 Greg Neimeyer - Las Vegas: I sent an to the listserv inviting members to Save the Date and reminding them that attending NPA sponsored CE events helps build our financial stability, which allows us to advocate for the profession of psychology. 6. April 29 th, Annual Conference APAIT Ethics Daniel Taube - Reno: Susan agreed to contact TMCC regarding venue options. Discussed the possibility of holding the Strategic Planning meeting on Friday and the Conference on Saturday in order to accommodate venue options. 7. November Suicide speaker tbd Reno: Lindsey agreed to provide the committee with options of West Coast speaker (to reduce travel costs) at our next meeting.
5 8. Last Chance Ethics Jean Maria Arrigo/ Terry Karney September 2016 Las Vegas: David drafted a letter inviting Jean Maria Arrigo and Terry Karney to present this event in September, rather than November. (Hosting this event sooner, rather than later, may boost attendance, as this is a current hot topic in light of the Hoffman Report.) CE committee reviewed and letter was sent. Dr. Arrigo agreed to present. We are working on identifying an agreeable date in September Northern Region Southern Region Legislative Committee The NPA Legislative committee is currently planning for our upcoming Legislative Retreats: Las Vegas Oct 3 and Reno Nov 14. We will provide an overview of the legislative process in Nevada, discuss PAC fundraising efforts, plan for the 2017 session and the activities during the interim year. We will also have a legislator speak to us at each event. 5 CEs will be available for attendees who participate for the day. All members and 'members-to-be' are encouraged to attend! Fall is PAC fundraising season and the legislative committee will be coordinating efforts with each region to build our PAC fund prior to the Spring elections and legislator fundraising period. We continue to meet monthly via conference call on the 4th Fri at noon. Next call will be Sept. 25 at noon. Respectfully submitted, Lisa Linning, PhD Legislative Co-Chair Diversity Committee Northern Region ECP My update for Northern ECP is that our next event is the fall social on the 30th. I have arranged an ECP/CEU talk with UNR on October 23rd. UNR asked me to talk about behavioral sleep medicine so I will be providing a 2 hour presentation for CEUS. This is an ECP event but the room reserved is large so others in the community may attend. When I get back I will send out an invite to NPA. Take care.
