3 A holiday giving tree is an opportunity for community members to help nearly 6,000 local children who recieve gifts through Hopelink s Giving Rooms. Our Giving Rooms make it possible for parents who are struggling to be able to hand-select new donated toys and other items they know their children will love. Hosting a holiday giving tree at your business, office, or among family and friends is a great way to help out families in need in our community. Hopelink can provide gift tags, posters and suggested items for different age groups, or you can create your own! You can display the tags as ornaments on your giving tree in a common space, or do something new and creative with them that inspires holiday spirit. New, unwrapped gifts must be delivered to your nearest Hopelink service center by December 12 or earlier. See below for a list of gift ideas. You can also visit hopelink.org/toys. In order to ensure that November and December are memorable months for all, we need your help. If your group or business is planning to organize a food drive for the holidays, feel free to contact us. We can help to make sure you have a successful, fun drive! Most Needed Food Items: Canned meals Canned meat (tuna, chicken, etc) Cereal/Oats Beans (dry and canned) Fruit (canned, fresh of frozen) Grains (pasta, rice, quinoa, barley, etc) Nut butters (peanut butter, almond butter, etc) Soup and broths Vegetables (canned, fresh or frozen) Cooking Oils Flour and Sugar Spices Boxed Stuffing Most Needed Non-Food Items: Baby items (size 3-6 diapers, wipes, formula) Hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo/soap, deodorant) Paper items (toilet paper, paper towels, zip-lock bags) Household and cleaning items (dishwasher soap, laundry soap) Please note: Hopelink is unable to accept donations of alcohol and medications (including vitamins) as well as any used items.
