Arkansas 2015 Annual Report MISSION The mission of the Arkansas National Guard Child and Youth Program

The Child and Youth Program promotes and sustains the quality of life and resilience of Guard children

2 Arkansas 2015 Annual Report MISSION The mission of the Arkansas National Guard Child and Youth Program is to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of the Guard Children and Youth. The Child and Youth Program promotes and sustains the quality of life and resilience of Guard children and youth by providing secure, timely, flexible, high-quality support services and enrichment programs. The youth program always provides a great opportunities for my kids to learn and have fun. - J. This mission is furthered through work with our partnerships and supported by the dedicated efforts of our volunteers.

Infuse resiliency skills into all youth through educational and experiential learning opportunities Highlights 2,924 Resources and Referrals were made by the CYP staff. Over 422 hours of extensive programming and experiential learning. Ten family events were held as a continual method to foster resilience in our youth. The 7 Habits curriculum was used along with other partner involvement to better support our youth and families. Three service projects were completed by the regional teen councils. CYP staff supported all Yellow Ribbon events held for the ARNG. This training helped me through the process of my dad and stepmom being deployed. - Kiersten Hartgraves Yellow Ribbon

Pre Teen and Teen Leadership Groups will be held expanding the types of experiential learning opportunities while including new partnerships and collaborating with additional educational entities around the state. Regional Teen Councils have been established. We will continue solidifying these groups and growing the membership. We will enhance our volunteer outreach to increase membership in all areas. We will also expand or training program to equip volunteers with essential information and tools needed to assist our youth and families. Our Youth Are Our Future Therefore, we teach them, support their aspirations, and guide their actions so one day, they may lead the way.
