6 PDAC Book Study Outliers: The Story of Success By Malcolm Gladwell Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes highachievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. - Amazon

7 PDAC MOVIE SCREENAGERS "Sit your kids down and watch this movie. Sit on them if you have to. It's a MUST SEE for anyone with kids in their lives!" Martha Adams, Chief Creative Officer for Girls Rising "I have been very concerned about this issue and as I'm a geneticist I'm very interested in the science behind it. The film is REMARKABLE: thoughtful, provocative and beautifully filmed and edited." Beth T., Geneticist at UCSF Children s Hospital TICKETS AT PDAC.EVENTCOMBO.COM

10 Mental Health Children s mental health is as critical as their physical health in achieving overall wellbeing. Healthy social and emotional development is a necessary underpinning for learning, school success, relationship development and positive interactions with their environment. Children s mental health is built on a foundation that depends on their family, community, and child-serving system s ability to support them. Source: (Illinois Children s Health Foundation)
