Performance FXR must consistently deliver a tightly-focused, well-behaved beam to the target to produce the best radiography possible. Old systems nearing end-of-life Many critical FXR parameters not monitored, archived, or used in required permissive chains; vacuum, pressures, flows, voltages, steering controls, etc... To understand FXR & improve performance, it must be operated consistently, and all relevant performance data acquired & analyzed. 16 New Controls & Diagnostics Overview PCs & Windows NT/2000 O.S. LabVIEW + the Datalogging & Supervisory Control (DSC) module are the development language & database for all systems. Selections based on prior experience, and ETA-II had selected BridgeVIEW (original version of LabVIEW+DSC) to re-designed their supervisory control systems. 18 New Controls & Diagnostics Architecture Overview FXR hard-wired controls & permissives are processed every 30 milliseconds in the PLC LabVIEW+DSC network database updates across all systems every 100 milliseconds. A firewall-isolated 801 ControlsNet was created to provide a high-speed network dedicated to the new FXR & BMCS control systems.
