14 HYFEED HYFIBRE SUPER FIBRE PELLET HyFibre is a Super Fibre pellet produced from Australian grown soy hulls which have a very high content of soluble fibre, making them easily digested in the large intestine. Soy Hulls provide a steady source of energy and will assist in maintaining a healthy digestive environment. The high digestible energy content of Soy Hulls makes them an ideal feed for horses who struggle to maintain weight. HyFibre pellet contains 100% Soy Hulls. It is recommended to soak the pellets in a 1:1 ratio of pellets:water, (eg. to 1 dipper of pellets you would add 1 dipper of water). This will form a light mash consistency. The pellets will be ready to feed out in under 10 minutes. These pellets are designed to be fed in conjunction with a good quality vitamin and mineral supplement, along with access to pasture or hay. HyFibre can also be included into your horse s current hard feed mix, to reduce the amount of chaff required, or to boost the amount of fibre your horse is receiving. 16 HYFEED BIG HEAD OVERCOMING CALCIUM DEFICIENCY Big Head Pellets and Lick are suitable for all equines grazing on affected pastures or receiving pollard or bran-based diets. Nutritional Secondary Hyperparathyroidism is commonly known as Big Head or Bran Disease and occurs when there is a calcium imbalance within the horse s diet. Big Head condition can occur in horses when they are grazing tropical and sub-tropical grasses that contain high concentrations of oxalates, or who are fed high phosphorous containing diets such as high grain, pollard or bran. Big Head Pellets and Lick are calcium supplements used to rectify the calcium to phosphorous ratio and overcome calcium deficiencies. They are are also suitable for feeding to broodmares and young stock, to maximise the availability of calcium in their diets.
