2 CÉLÉBRITÉ ENERGY INDEX An exclusive tool to select the ideal Célébrité feed based on your horse s unique health and performance objectives 4 INDICATORS DESCRIBE THE ENERGY PROFILE OF CÉLÉBRITÉ FEEDS: CALORIES: The higher the value, the more the feed contributes to effective weight gain or maintain body condition despite exercise. FAT: Quantity of fat derived from vegetable oil such as soybean and flax seed. Very calorie-dense nutrient that does not cause an insulin response and helps increase muscle endurance by favouring mobilization of fatty tissues. NSCs: Quantity of sugars and starch from ingredients. These carbohydrates contribute to the effective recovery of muscle glycogen after exercise. Must be served in reasonable quantities and in several meals per day given their acidifying effect and their impact on blood insulin and sugar levels. FIBRE: Quantity of fibre from highly digestible ingredients such as soybean hulls or beet pulp. Fermenting them allows the production of volatile fatty acids, used as a consistent source of energy. Does not affect the horse s behaviour. CEI: Arrow indicating what type of energy is generated by the Célébrité feed and what kind of activity or effort it is intended for. Sources of energy available on an ongoing basis: favours endurance and maintain calm behaviour Energy balance favouring sustained effort over an extended period of time. Ideal for disciplines such as: eventing, combined driving, intermediate /advanced courses, etc. Moderate glycemic index Ideal for power work: racing, horse pulling, etc. Ideal for aerobic work: pleasure riding, cross-country riding, beginner courses, etc. High glycemic index Low glycemic index FIBRE CALORIES Easily available sources of energy, effective muscular recovery. Jet fuel effect FAT NSCs
