1 UBUNTU Nutritional Guidelines The Ubuntu Wellness Clinic will do all we can to support you. We suggest keeping a daily journal to document your food, water, medicine consumption, record daily changes and note any questions that arise so that you can discuss them at your follow up appointment approx. 4-6 weeks after your care package has been dispatched. Also keep a journey of any pharmaceuticals - making note of day, time, dosage and reactions. Please know that the program you are about to start is based on the consumption of Cannabis, the world s oldest natural nutrient rich food source. Hemp seeds, CFC oils (Cannabis Food Concentrates) and simple dietary changes are the most important part of the program. Those that try their best to follow these simple guidelines glean the best results. Please ensure you keep your paper work and guidelines in a safe place to refer to them when needed. Important: Cannabis consumption has been known to lower blood pressure, please be aware of this if high blood pressure is an issue and ask your Dr to assist in weaning off the pharmaceutical drugs if that is your choice. IMPORTANT Always take CFC oils at different times to current pharmaceuticals and request assistance from your GP in weaning off pharmaceuticals if that is your desire. The purpose of Cannabis, Hemp consumption is to assist your bodies natural ability to do what it knows to do, to heal, balance what is out of balance, and eliminate toxins from the body. Please ensure you drink adequate toxin free water to assist with the removal of toxins. You may experience detox symptoms known as 'Herxing'. If detox symptoms become too extreme reduce cannabis, hemp consumption to a more comfortable dose and or rest well and drink plenty of water to assist with flushing. This too will pass. Our guidelines are a two-step program for increasing quality of wellbeing. STEP 1 - NUTRITION GUIDELINES The following need to be reduced and ultimately removed from your daily nutritional intake. Refined sugars - replace with organic maple syrup or liquid or dried natural stevia. White rice/pasta- replace with brown, black or cauliflower rice. Replace pasta with organic, vegetable or gluten free pasta. Refined High- carbohydrate foods. Dairy products - replace with hemp seed, almond, or coconut (carton not tin) milk Pure Harvest is a recommended brand. Try organic coconut yogurt.
2 Processed food - replace with wholefoods - fresh in season vegetables, fruits, herbs, spice, nuts, grains (if not allergic or a trigger) Alcohol/Tobacco - best to quit altogether however, if too difficult try organic preservative free wine. Try organic tobacco - Manitou, hemp papers and filters It is also very important to remove all refined sugars and carbohydrates from diet, as this tends to cause more damage to the already weakened system. Sugar causes high inflammation in the body and continues to feed bacteria and things like candida. For this reason, we are asking you to remove these damaging foods while we work to get the system back on line properly. We encourage you to drink at least 2 litres of fluoride free water per day. You are undergoing a dramatic detoxing process while consuming phytonutrients and cannabinoids, consuming more water assists with this detox. We recommend Pureau-Australia's Purest water (readily available at Woolworths and Coles). Water filters that remove Fluoride are Reverse Osmosis or distilled water. We do not recommend drinking straight tap water due to its high heavy metals, and Fluoride content. We recommend having, at least once a week some grass fed organic vegetable or bone broth. It is best to consume bone broth first thing in morning and last thing at night. 1-3 days of bone broth fasting is also recommended to reduce symptoms. This must be done when you have time to rest to assist with the healing process. Benefits of Bone Broth - Anti-inflammatory, supports gut healing, fights food sensitivity, boost immune system, anti-aging properties, paleo friendly, allergen friendly. It is a great source of natural collagen amino acids, glucosamine, essential fats, and essential minerals. The gelatine found in bone broth supports proper digestion and the bone broth reduces joint pain and inflammation. HIMALAYAN SALT - 150gr $5 It is also recommended at a night time before going to bed, to put a decent sized pinch of Himalayan salt in a tall glass of good clean water, (filtered water, spring water) then the first thing upon rising is to drink that salted water. It improves your body's electrolytic factor, which improves energy conductivity. The results being potential optimum health. 70% of our body is salty fluid, hence the need to replenish regularly and assist the kidneys in maintaining fluid balances. Himalayan salt benefits; Hydration - A little natural salt and water slows this process down and allows all the goodness of the water to be absorbed and used. Digestion - helps to resolve this problem of poor digestion by supporting the stomach's natural function, rather than impeding it. Reduces inflammation - prolonged lack of salt increases rich of chronic diseases Better sleep - drinking warm salt water can raise your oxytocin levels, which helps you feel calm and relaxed. Detoxification - helps flush out wastes and toxins Bone Health - healthy minerals help improve bone health and alkalinizing effects
3 Skin Health - natural salt contains minerals that help your skin heal and boosts the immune system, regulates the activity of oil glands HEMP SEEDS 1 kg - $50 (Essential to eat daily) It is extremely important to have hemp seeds as a regular part of your diet as they have a very high bio availability of nutrition. They are the perfect balance of 3,6,9 omegas as well as full chain essential amino acids, protein, vitamins and minerals. They prepare the body for the uptake of Cannabis Food Concentrates (CFC). The recommended dose is 2 heaping tablespoons twice daily. A raw salad with Hemp seed dressing to be eaten daily is highly recommended. Encourage family members to experiment with recipes, make it fun for the whole family to get healthy. Please refer to recipe book for more information and recipes. Hemp seed recipes: Raw food for life: Food Matters: MAGNESIUM FLAKES 250g - $12 or 1 kilo $34 We also recommend you add 1/4 teaspoon of crushed flakes sprinkled onto food or in a glass of water. By adding half a teaspoon of Elektra Magnesium Flakes to one litre of filtered water you can make a great tasting and more hydrating electrolyte mineral drinking water. This assists in hydrating your cells. Additionally, the benefits of magnesium chloride flakes include greater energy, more relaxed muscles (and stronger connective tissues), better sleep, improved mental and reproductive function, arterial health and reduction/elimination of headaches/migraines. Magnesium can also be added to bath water, alternatively you can have Epsom salt baths regularly with at least 3-4 cups of Epsom salts per bath. IODINE 25ml - $25 Iodine is used by your thyroid gland to help regulate metabolism and development of both your skeletal system and brain. The amount of iodine needed is dependent on the effects of fluoride and bromide. Every cell in our body requires iodine and without it cyst form in our tissues. This iodine is chemically pure potassium iodide extracted from seaweed and formulated to deliver 4mg/drop. The dose varies from 1-4 drops/day. It is very safe, though four drops is the maximum dose as larger doses may cause skin reactions and thyroid dysfunction. A practical way to replete thyroid stores is to take four drops for one week, then three for the second week, two drops the following week, then a maintenance dose of one drop per day, added to any meal. Administer 1/4 of this dose for children. Iodine is an essential element; the highest concentration is found in sea foods. It is essential to facilitate proper thyroid function and control basal metabolic rate. Deficiencies can cause cretinism in children, goitres and hypothyroidism and low IQ. Iodine is also paramount for breast, ovary s, prostate and all glandular tissue. Populations with high iodine intake (4-12mg/day) have less fibrocystic breast disease. The current medical recommendation is 150mg or one seventh of a milligram per day. We feel this is very inadequate as iodine can be inhibited in its
4 actions by fluoride and bromide, present in tap water, processed food, soft furnishings, flame retardant materials and the air we breathe. A test for Elemental Iodine is a urine test ordered by a Dr, not a T3 or T4 blood test. The best Iodine supplement for Thyroid issues is one with both Potassium Iodide and Iodine together. This is IODORAL OPTIMAX 12.5 mg that you get online. Take 1 a day. If you are currently taking thyroxine please ensure you discuss with consultant. SELENIUM Available in all good health food stores. (SELENOSOL by Nutrition Care is a good one) consume 4-5 drops in water daily. Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that protects the thyroid gland against free radicals and the type of inflammation that is usually seen with autoimmune thyroid diseases. There is increasing evidence that simultaneously taking selenium and iodine supplements contribute to an improved balance between the two trace elements, both are important for regulating thyroid hormones and assists the body to detoxify especially when exposed to mercury, fluoride, chlorine and bromide. Selenium is vital to open detox pathways in the brain and arteries. Please ensure you consume plenty of foods to boost your immune system such as garlic, mushrooms, CBD oil, colloidal silver. Herbs such as oregano, tea tree, echinacea, ginseng, vitamin D, astragalus root, ginger and probiotics. Herb Robert $12 This tea is an effective treatment for arthritis, cancer, tumors, chronic fatigue, digestion, inflammation, gout, pain relief, skin conditions and much more. It will also assist to strengthen your immune system and oxygenate cells. Pau D arco bark tea $16 This tea will help to eliminate gut bugs, parasites, bacteria, viruses, fight against cancers, autoimmune issues such as arthritis, and many other autoimmune conditions. It is important to be taking when working to keep cancers from spreading. Rapid Intestinal Cleanse (Colon Cleanse) $60 Please watch attached ebook with directions for Colon Cleanse. INTESTAMINE (BioCeuticals) Available from health food shop, follow instructions. The reason we recommend this product is that it has slippery elm, to help heal the mucosal linings of the digestive system. It also contains an amino acid called L- Glutamine, which helps to heal the gut lining, the epithelial cells, and close the tight junctions, assisting in stopping one of the main causes of metabolic imbalances in
5 the body. This is a very important step in addressing autoimmune diseases, and ultimately cancers. Brushing teeth upon rising - Toxins accumulate in your mouth while sleeping so consuming food or beverage before brushing teeth puts toxins back into the body. After brushing teeth with natural toothpaste (no fluoride) we recommend a glass of water with a teaspoon of Himalayan or sea salt preferably Tasmanian followed by half a lemon in warm water to support liver while detoxing. Drink a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice daily with 1 teaspoon of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 1-3 times a day added (or olive leaf extract if immune system is jeopardized). The goal would be to increase to consume between 1-5 grams of Vitamin C daily. Consuming cloudy Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother in it before meals will assist with digestion and support your body to remove toxins from the liver. We recommend a teaspoon in a cup of warm water before breakfast and dinner each day. Consume 1 teaspoon of sodium bicarb in water before bed will assist to balance PH levels. The best way to reduce your toxic load and heal from your illness is to remove all chemical products from your environment. Stop using chemicals in items such as; All personal care items like soap and shampoo etc. Cleaning products and artificial perfumes Pesticides especially Roundup Food and water. Remove or severely limit processed foods Soak vegetables in apple cider vinegar and water for at least 10 minutes to remove chemicals before using, especially if not using organic produce. Mediation/Mindfulness and natural therapies. See below for examples. Meditation minutes meditation first thing in the morning can make a huge difference to your day and your quality of life. Gratitude meditation can be done anywhere any time by picturing people and things you are grateful for while continuing to affirm thank you in your mind. Grounding - Extensive research has been done to confirm the benefits of grounding to reduce inflammation and lift one s spirits. Tapping or EFT - is an amazing and easy therapy.
